Man, this is a great backpack. I\'ve used it both for school as well as for hiking (just day hikes or overnight, it wouldn\'t fit much more than that). It\'s great because the laptop sleeve is very protecting; I never feel worried about my computer being there. Great construction, lightweight, ready to take on anything!
Brands I'd also recommend: North Face, Patagonia, Kavu

I was looking for a slightly bigger computer backpack to replace my current one, which I use both for airplane travel and walking to/from campus with laptop/books. Desiderata included multiple zippered pockets for organizing items (e.g. cell phone, cords, etc.) and side pockets for carrying a water bottle. This pack fit the bill perfectly. The main storage compartment is quite generous, with ample space for a laptop plus several books, a jacket, etc. The storage sleeve for the laptop keeps a computer well secured. The secondary storage compartment is big enough for a lunch or computer cords, and it is well laid out with slots for pens, wallet, gum, etc. The additional zippered pockets on the front provide more options for smaller items (e.g. cell phone, gloves/hat). I'm never quite sure where to put my laptop accessories (i.e. mouse, power cord), but it's not for a lack of options. My ideal backpack would have custom storage pockets just for these items; but the options provided in this pack are not bad. It's the right size for moving through the airport and it fits comfortably underneath an airplane seat. I've always trusted the quality of Mountain Hardwear's products and this pack only confirms that view. This is a solid, sturdy pack with great storage options.
Brands I'd also recommend: Black Diamond, Dakine, Keen, The North Face

Probably the best backpack for everyday use I've ever owned. Use this commuting to and from work every day. It has plenty of pockets for all your stuff, perfect fit for my tablet and/or Laptop. Plus, it looks cool and its Mountain Hardwear so you'll know it'll last!

The zipper on my old bookbag finally died and I needed a replacement. I am a college student and I needed something spacious, weather-resistant, and durable. I finally settled on this after looking at the North Face Recon and Mountain Hardwear Agama (mostly due to price and style). The zippers are beefy and seem long-lasting, the seams are all impeccable, and it can fit a lot. With my 15" laptop+charger, a textbook, some notebooks, pens/pencils, and a calculator, there is plenty of space for a lunch or to toss in my climbing shoes for some after class bouldering. A few notes: 1. It is a tall backpack, there is a lot of headroom above books and documents. 2. The two front pockets are each their own pocket, they are separated by fabric. 3. The compression straps are next to useless. They do not compress the top at all, which is where it could use it the most. They also get in the way sometimes with the (otherwise roomy) water bottle pockets. Overall I'm very happy. I expect it to last a long time, but it is only coming up on about a month.

I have not used it much yet. However, typical Mountain Hardwear standards - top of the line. This item would be perfect no matter where you purchased it from. This review is for Zappos, and they are awesome - 5 stars every time. Zappos rocks!
