Morgan&Milo Kids Tessa MJ (Toddler/Youth) SKU #7578332(View on Zappos.com Classic)

We got the purple ones of these and I must say these shoes are super cute! I must also admit that I was a little leery of Morgan and Milo because I bought a pair of their sparkly mary janes (don't remember the model name, but they're available at Zappos) and I did not like the wear of them at all. They looked old almost immediately. The rubber started pulling away around the soles within a few wearings and shoes shed glitter like a cat sheds fur in the summer! When you spend this much money on shoes for a toddler, you don't want it to look like crap within a week. But these are wearing extremely well. Weeks and weeks of wear and they still look practically new. On the surface it seems hard to justify buying expensive shoes for a toddler. My 2.5 year-old daughter is really tall for her age and has big feet, but what I have found is that she is only interested in 1-2 pairs of shoes at a time. I have also noticed that when I buy her lesser quality shoes (a la Payless or Target) that they aren't that comfortable for her (especially if you buy them 1/2 size bigger like you are supposed to) and she'll refuse to wear them. So rather than buying 4-5 pairs of $10 shoes that suck and she won't wear, I buy 1 pair of more expensive shoes that are super cute and fit great. Plus, because they aren't shoes one sees every day (like say, your Barbie light up sneaker), she gets a lot of compliments from adults on them and she loves that attention, too. Another note on the color: for a kid who basically has 4 pairs of shoes (flip flops, rain boots, these purple mary janes and the brown and pink high tops from Morgan and Milo, so really 2 that she wears every day), this purple is surprisingly wearable with many different outfits. I should say that I believe that she has the whole rest of her life to wear sensible safe shoes, so I tend to buy shoes that are a little brighter and would not look good on an older person (i.e. purple mary janes), but these look great with a lot of stuff. Because of the sturdy construction, she sometimes asks for help putting them on because it is a little bit of effort for her to do it alone. I don't know that I would call that a complaint, just a note. She thinks they are comfortable and likes that they are reminiscent of purple ballet slippers.
