Had a couple pairs of the originals and have had these for about 100 trail miles, including a 50-miler. First off, if you've experienced the original Mountain Masochists: I can find no differences between the original MM version and this, the MM II. Same everything, except that I sized a half smaller in the MM II. I would suggest a bit more cushion or substantial rock plate in the forefoot, but otherwise, a fantastic shoe that falls between the minimalist and cushion/control genres. Perfect for trail middle distance (marathons)and longer.

May be okay for jogging on smooth dirt trails but not for hiking on rocky mountain trails. Took a moderate 6 mile hike in the Smokies with a light day pack. The last mile coming back the bottom of my feet were fatigued.

This has become my go-to shoe, but it has one problem. I need a tube of Shoe Goo to go along with it. It's been years since I've seen soles wear as rapidly as these do.

Got these shoes for my husband for his birthday because he was jealous of the pair that I have. He absolutely loves them. They are super light weight - and look great with jeans or shorts. He has a really wide foot and normally wears an 11.5. I ordered the 12 because they didn't have an 11.5 and it ended up being the perfect size. Would definitely recommend these shoes. I'm wearing mine right now and I love them. They can be worn for a trail run, to the gym, or to whatever event you happen to be attending and what to wear tennis shoes for. Super versatile!

Fit was good. However, am disappointed with shoe. I walk on Dirt, sand and gravel dike/levee near my home. I can feel every small rock on forefoot even with gel insoles. Pronation control appears to be missing. My feet hurt. Shoes are light weight, which is nice. I miss my Montrail Vitesse shoes which were fantastic, but no longer being produced--bummer.
