Bloody heel best describes the experience. This is my 5th pair of Montrails and by far the worst running shoe ever. Previously I have owned the Continental Divide (fantastic), Hard Rock (so-so), and 2 pairs of Vitesse (they never die). I figured a new pair of running shoes would be a no brainer. I am a mixed trail and surface runner and have always had a favorable experience with this brand. What gives? What non-runner designed the Achilles support area so unforgiving that his has made my feet bleed. The shoe is the right size, but the back has sharp edges that dig into the backs of your feet. Do not purchase.

Very comfortable running shoe. I have worn Vitesse by Montrail for 15 years until this model was discontinued and was apprehensive about a new mode. So far, these are fine, although the colors are a bit on the tacky side: bright silver with "camouflage" of the heel. Still a very comfortable shoe for my hard working running feet.

I have been having trouble with my feet and these shoes are a godsend. My feet were feeling very sore after walking with all the other shoes I tried. These shoes feel wonderful and my feet do not get sore. I wear them for both city walking and day hiking. I don't like the way they look so much but I love the way they feel.
