Wow. I have gone Mizuno Wave Prophecy 3 and I am never turning back. I was skeptical at first, given the priceyness of these shoes. However, when I put my feet into these shoes I immediately understood why. A smile unconsciously appeared on my face. My feet felt so comfortable in these, it literally made me smile. The shoe's upper material is so soft, yet flexible and durable; it felt natural and not constricting like other upper material in other shoes. The insole and tongue molded to my feet. Other shoes that I have tried had scratchy insoles, or tongues, and poor heel support. These simply blew me away in terms of comfort and support. In regard to my running experience, these are the Ferrari of running shoes. It felt like I was running on a zero gravity treadmill. The shock absorption of these shoes is beyond anything that I have ever experienced. With good running form, everything waist down benefits from these shoes; your bones, joints, and muscles will not be the least bit phased after a long run in these. This is the closest thing to running on clouds. Hands down, worth the price and highly recommended. You simply will not be disappointed.

These have terrible cushioning. I purchased the shoes for the New York City Marathon. I have run 12 other marathons in other Mizunos with no legal injuries. After about a 100 miles of training in the Prophecy I experienced both shin splints and foot injuries with each run. I switched to a Brooks gel shoe (so mad at Mizuno that I could not buy another pair) and had no more problems. Literally after a month of blaming myself for the injuries running with Prophecy shoes, I switched and ALL injuries quickly disappeared. I ran the New York City Marathon two weeks ago with no shin splints and no foot injuries. What was a shocking comparison was running 15 miles with the Prophecy on one foot and the Brooks on the other. What a huge difference the Brooks shoe was. Sure Brooks weights a little bit more, but that was not noticed at all. Instead my ability to run hard and fast for along distance with the Brooks was incredible, after suffering relentless abuse from the Mizuno. Shame on Mizuno. They are clearly hyping these shoes through paid endorsement reviews. Stay away. I damn near did not get to run the New York City Marathon because of my fascination with buying Mizunos supposed top-of-the line cushioning shoe. What a waste as they sit in my closed in a corner of shame.

I am not the one to write reviews, but on these shoes I just had too. Out of all the shoes I had ever worn, these are by far the very best I had ever had! First of all, I had to go see a foot dr. I was suffering very badly my feet where very painful to walk on, he told me that 90% of women have the same problem, I had always bought Asics and he even told me they were very good shoes, so he told me he had to fit me for inserts for my shoes, I thought to myself, What?! I've never had problems with my feet before, I am very fit work out every day, I couldn't understand why I would need inserts, so of course I figured the Dr knew what he was talking about, so after 3 months of having to wait for them, finally got them fitted for my shoes, when I put them on they where very comfortable and I thought okay I could deal with this as long as I can walk around without anymore pain. Well, that only lasted for like 3 months till the pain started coming back, I said what is going on here, I paid so much money for these inserts and I am still having all of this pain. So to make a long story short, I always buy my shoes at Zappos so I came across the Mizuno Wave Prophecy, the shoes were on sale; I was going back and forth if I should buy these or not because the price was very high and I was so used to wearing the Asics and I love the colors that they came in so I decided I would give the Mizuno a try, after just slipping my feet into these magical shoes I had no more pain in my feet, it all went away, how could this be I wonder, did I get taken by this Dr. for having to wear custom inserts in my shoes when in fact I didn't need them, I just had to change my shoes. I was able to power walk on my treadmill with no more foot pain, and I am getting ready to order a second pair. If your Dr suggests inserts for your shoes, please take my advice and try these shoes first, they are like heaven walking on clouds. Thank you Zappos for being my 1 stop shoe source!

I'd also recommend: None, just these!!!!

I call these my LSD shoes (long slow distance) and they certainly live up to any hype you may have heard. It's like running on clouds. Just completed a 20 miler and planning to run a marathon with them in a couple weeks. I had very little soreness and my feet felt great, even as I pummeled them on a mountain bike trail. They're even better on the road. I'd highly recommend them to any long distance runner. Just one note - they do take a few runs to break in.

Comfortable, sturdy running shoe. I was looking for a stable shoe since I was leaving the minimalist shoe world and didn't want a squishy sole. These shoes have plenty of cushion for higher mileage but feel very stable. The heel slips just a touch but I also have a narrow heel. The toe box is roomy and cool. Very cool looking shoe.
