If you are sitting on the fence about buying these because of the price tag - don't - buy! I have never owned a pair of shoes more comfortable & supportive ever.. I will always own a pair. Also buy up 1/2 size...I'm glad I did - they are perfect! Happy shopping! Zappos VIP.

A loyal Mizuno buyer, I spend serious dough on most any shoe because I have a bad knee (multiple surgeries) and feet that are typically unhappy when they are in an enclosed shoe .... but then came along the Mizuno Wave Prophecy! What a fantastic treat for the feet! I am a light trail runner (2.5 to 3.5 miles, 3-4 times a week) and the shoes felt great out of the box and held up really well. It fits true to size (I used the "runner's loop" on the last two shoe string holes and that avoided any heel slipage on my smaller foot) and allows even my wide foot room to "spread" (much more so than earlier models of Mizunos). A light AND stable ride, this shoe offers a combination that cannot, in my book, be beat. The only reason I rated the "Style" 4 stars is that the outer layer of fabric last year (2012) was mesh and it separated within a month of use. I have just ordered the 2013 Wave Prophecy 2 and will update my review later on. Until then, happy trails.

I wore these shoes straight out of the box and they were totally comfortable. I went to Europe for a month and these were the shoes I wore. I walked SO much and did not experience any discomfort. I walked on a lot of cobblestones and my feet were tired but never sore. I would highly recommended these shoes to anyone for any activities. I had NEVER paid this much for a sho but I decided you do get what you pay for. I came home and they still look like a brand new pair of shoes. My daughters are runners and I am definitely going to tell them about my experiences with this pair of shoes.
