Toe box is too small, even in the EE size. It is very unfortunate Mizuno discontinued the Wave Alchemy for the Paradox. The Paradox must be cheaper to produce.

I purchased these shoes and ran in them the first time yesterday (nine miles)! This is my first pair of Mizunos, and I am training for a half marathon. I have been training in a pair of Brooks Trance 12s and I have to say, these shoes rock compared to them! I pronate and these are the best shoes that I have worn for comfort, fit, and weight! These are light and comfortable! I would recommend these shoes to anyone! They are worth every penny! I will be purchasing a pair of Prophecy 3s as soon as I can grab some cheap enough! My wife bough a pair of prophecy 3s at Finish Line two days ago and she says her feet has never felt so good! I tried on a pair, but they were very expensive. I agree with her! Those are crazy comfortable, but not made for pronation, but I am going to buy a pair for casual use! Bottom line, buy these if you pronate... do not waste your time or money buying/looking for anything else!

I'd also recommend: I will only recommend Mizuno from now on!

I just bought these shoes as a suggestion from a local running store. I pronate pretty bad and need a good stability shoe. I had been running in Nike Free 5+ and was experiencing lower leg/knee pain after running. After taking this pair out for it's first run I was completely comfortable the whole time and have no leg pain post run and they feel just as light as the Nike's did on my feet. Overall great shoe.

Bought these as a replacement from many happy years of the Wave Nirvana in spring 2014. Two major problems. 1) The design is much different than before, and the architecture of the lace placement has caused tremendous strain on my feet. I've developed a ganglial cyst (i.e. fluid build up between the bones) in my right foot. Dr. suggested it was the pressure points on the running shoes. 2) Even though I alternate shoes per run, I've already burned through this set of Paradox, and have virtually no traction left. Will see if I can find leftover sets of the Wave Inspire...those were a closer replacement.

Mizuno describes this shoe as a replacement for both the Wave Alchemy and the Wave Nirvana. Having run in the Wave Alchemy 12 for two years, I found the Wave Paradox much less comfortable, especially in the toe box. Overall, the forefoot seems more cramped, and the upper is less flexible. I went with the same size as my Wave Alchemy's. Perhaps sizing up would have solved this issue, but I'm fairly certain it would have led to heel slippage. Unfortunately, I'm stuck with these, as I've worn them outside. Just something to think about when purchasing running shoes online, I suppose. On a positive note, these are very unique looking shoes!
