Love these super comfy boots! I researched relentlessly for a while and wanted the quality and look of Frye's without the price tag. I've pretty much always had good luck with Merrells, they seem to fit my feet really well, and these were no exception. As mentioned, they fit comfortably right out of the box. These are lightweight but the construction quality appears to be really good and the leather (I got the brown) is beautiful and very soft while still maintaining some shape. There is a cute stripe lining. Normally I wear an 8.5 but the toebox felt slightly short and the ankle was a little tight for wear with a thick sock, which is typical for me in the winter, so I got the 9. My gripes: I am 5'7", 125 lbs with 13" calves and these are definitely on the big side for me. In fact, without the puffy liners, I don't need to use the side zip at all to get them on and off. I kind of wish they sold these boots without the liners and side zip, especially since I don't plan on using the liners since I think they look weird and are an interesting-but-impractical idea. I will use them in my Wellingtons though! All in all, there's always a compromise...but I'm mostly happy with these boots, as they are very comfortable, look good, and go with a wide variety of outfits. Merrell continues to defeat the competition!

Absolutely one of the best Merrell purchases! Have it in black and brown! Fits quite true to size. I wear a 6 or a 6.5; got this in a 6, and it fits perfectly with or without the padded addition.

I have fairly long, narrow feet, with narrow ankles and long toes. I typically wear a 9.5 in shoes by makers like Merrel, Keen, Born, Cole Haan, etc. I had difficulty getting these boots to fit. Initially, I ordered a 9; too sloppy in the heel and too long, both with and without the leg warmer. Then I ordered a 8.5; I couldn't zip the boot with the leg warmer without it the length was right but the boot rubbed my pinkie toes. I'm thinking these boots may be better for people with a little wider foot than mine. As for style, they kind of look like leather galoshes once you get them on. Cute, but not quite the biker look I was after. The quality, however is really great, especially for the price. The leather is beautiful, the soles have great lug traction. Hope this helps; I really appreciate all the reviews on Zappos!

These boots are awesome, comfortable and great style. Fit true to size. I have large calves and these boots fit with no problem. No need to break in. Wore them all night in Vegas for New Year's!

Ordered these because I was traveling in winter to Bulgaria. I have chubby calves so some boots are hard to fit into. But these had plenty of room. Further, there was enough room for big, fluffy warm socks. I love the warm inserts too, but have only used them once. If you have small calves, they adjust easily and don't look bulky. Super warm, comfortable and durable. I will be wearing these for years. Well worth the money,

These are great oots. My niece was wearing them last winter and I asked if it was okay if I got a pair. She raved how comfortable they are so I figured I'd try them out. I often have a hard time with shoes and boots since my foot is a large 10. 101/2 I swim in and never go there since they even look more monsterous. I have to admit they are actually so roomy that I found an old insole to fill up some of the space inside. Loads of room on the calf also which is refreshing for me. Sometimes I don't need the inside down sleeve since they are VERY warm, but without, they are actually floppy on my legs, tons of room for any jean you want to stuff in there. Very country looking though.
