I couldn't even put my foot in! I didn't realize the shaft runs so small and narrow! And I am a 5 ft 8 and 120 pounds, so by no means huge. My daughter is has a size 9 foot and very skinny, and it's okay for her although its a very tight squeeze in. I live in Asia, so not possible to return. What a shame.

I loved this boot when I saw it online, and didn't order it because of the review that I read. I am so glad because I actually tried it on today at a retail store, and could not get my foot in at ALL!! It was so narrow and small, there was no way to put my foot in it at all.

Great boots (if you have a narrow foot, which I do). On reading other reviewers' reports that these boots were too narrow even to get a foot into, I suspected that they might just be perfect for me -- and they are! Reviewer's comments that the boots additionally ran small led me to order size 8.5 (I wear either an 8 or an 8.5 depending on the shoe), and once again, the size suited me to a T. I may get a second pair just to have on hand; will just get black again unless (hint, hint) more colors become available.

I was very happy when my new Merrell boots arrived in 2 days from Zappos. To my surprise though, these boots are heavy, hard, and have no give to them. It was like walking in combat boots. I will be returning these boots to Zappos. They were also too tight, you would need a size bigger. Merrell boots/shoes are usually great. I don't know what happened with these boots.

Despite the low reviews from other shoppers, I took a chance on this boot. This is a great boot!!!! There is plenty of toe room, although the boot is snug at the middle of the foot and the heel. I find this quality to be quite stabilizing, and therefore I like it. As long as my toes aren't being pinched, I'm a happy girl! They are also a bit stiff, but I like that that means they will be more contoured to my feet once they're more worn in. I hate boots that get slouchy/sloppy after a few months. The color (I bought the berry/brown version) is awesome. There is a lot of tread on the bottom of these boots, and I had no issues with slipping whilst wearing them on icy pavement. I am also excited that they were a bit too warm in 32-degree weather, which means they should be nice and toasty when the temperature drops. I bought an 8, and usually wear a 7½ or 8.

Despite some of the negative reviews, I decided to try these boots as I love Merrells and have narrower feet. I normally wear a 7 and purchased an 8; perfect size, but they do run a bit small. These boots are beautiful (highly recommend the brown and raspberry color!), rugged, and will be perfect in the cold weather. They can be a bit narrow at the top when putting the boots on, but I love them.

Comfortable, warm and stylish too. The only complaint (a small one) would be that they are difficult to remove. Love these boots. I generally wear them to play with the kids in the snow. I had a pair of Columbia's but my feet were always cold after ten or fifteen minutes. Not anymore! The first time I wore them I came in after an hour outside at ten degrees and my feet were toasty warm. I would definitely recommend these boots.

I was hesitant to buy this boot because of the negative feedback about being able to get the boot on. But I wanted it, it is so cute and stylish! I usually wear a size 9, but ordered a 9.5. It was too big. I exchanged it for a size 9 and it was delivered the next day, great customer service! The 9 is a perfect fit (width and length). It is a bit tricky to get on, but not impossible. I'm sure it will become more easy once it's worn in. It's warm inside (wore it in 26F today), and has good grip in snow and slush. I ordered the huckleberry/brown combination and just love it! My feet are average, sometimes I have to buy a "Wide" shoe, but this boot has enough room/space.

I was very nervous to order these because of previous reviews that I read about the boot running a size too small, hard to get foot in, and very stiff. I went ahead and ordered them because they were so cute and I was willing to take a chance (free shipping!). I ordered an 8, because I am usually a 7 1/2 or 8, and they fit perfect! Love them.

I ordered a a half size bigger than I usually wear, and I couldn't even get my foot down into the boot. The shaft was very small. I had to send them back. It's too bad to because I really liked the look of these boots.

I just received this boot so I have not road tested it yet. I ordered a half size larger to accommodate heavier socks if needed. I always go a half size up in Merrells. I have narrow feet and this boot fits me well with med. or heavy socks. The tread is substantial and should provide good traction. The only drawback I can is this boot is a bit difficult to get on and off due to a narrow shaft. However, like all my Merrells it fits my skinny feet and narrow heels beautifully. I might suggest that people invest in a "boot jack" to remove tight boots. They are a Godsend and require no bending over to remove tight boots. I have used one for years to remove very fitted custom riding boots. They are inexpensive and can be found in all equestrian supply shops or online. I hope this boot is as warm as it is advertised to be.

Once I saw the bad reviews of not being able to get the boot on I was afraid I'd have to send them back. I ordered my wife these as Christmas gift and ordered half size larger than she usually wears. She's a ladies 8, I'm a mans 8.5 so I ordered ladies 8.5 and when they arrived the first thing I did was try to get my foot in. With no socks and a lot of effort I got my foot all the way in the right but could only get the left half way. I thought for sure they'd be getting returned, but she loves them! They were difficult for her to get on at first, but once on she said they were great. And every time she puts them on now they get easier to put on. The top is leather so it probably gets a little looser when broken in. Maybe my stretching them out a tad helped but in any case they are tight to get on but once worked in a little they are awesome boots!

Very disappointed. Looks like a great boot, but I can't even get it on. No zipper and not a big enough opening to slip foot in comfortably. It would take an hour to get these on. Not for an on-the-go person!

I tried lots of boots...not one came close to the comfort Merrell provides. It's warm and acts like a supportive athletic shoe. Unlike other boots, I can walk in these all day - doesn't look or feel clunky. I had no problem getting them on on and off, like other reviews.
