It was love at first sight when I saw you, my black patent Plies. Your length and width were perfect. You had such style. How I longed to stroll with you along the Seine, through the Louvre, and to the very top of the Eiffel Tower. Yet, with each step we took together, you cut into the tops of my toes. I put hours of work into shaping you to my will, but you would not bend. You simply weren't pliable, unwilling to loosen up in the right places. The very sight of you pains me, and I regret putting so much time and energy into you. If my toes were not so long, perhaps we could have been a perfect match. We shall never know.

I bought these shoes for a trip to Italy. They are very comfy and true to size. I normally wear a wide width, but this width was fine. I would recommend these shoes highly.

These shoes are so comfortable. I take an 8 1/2 shoe and they are a perfect fit. Cute and fashionable. Also, a big thanks to Zappos for the great customer service and delivery.

Very comfortable, casual, neutral shoe. Just right for an informal work setting. No breaking in. Minimal arch. Good choice for early fall & when you're overdue for a pedicure!

As always the Merrell's are a great shoe. They are softer than most that I have had before but are very comfortable. They fit as expected, nothing unusual there. I had purchased them for a trip to Edinburgh where I thought I would use them for sight seeing on foot. While I needed a shoe and not a sandal for the weather the Plie proved to be too soft. Normally that would be a plus so I used waking shoes on vacation and saved the Merrell's for the summer around town and home. One thing the straps caused no problems. In some shoes they can be too tight and cut but these were broken in from the start. Zappos is the best and I now know the word is a Spanish derivative for shoes.

Close but no cigar - I love the look of these shoes - they are really cute and unique. The "scuba" type fabric of the strap is extremely comfortable and overall the shoe feels quite breathable. Unfortunately, the cut is a little weird and causes some pain on the top of my foot. The cracks in my toes are exposed, if that makes any sense, and the leather rubs near that area on my big toe. I wore them around the house all day and the leather did not show any signs of warming up and stretching in that area. So disappointed because otherwise these were the perfect shoes.

I fell in love with these shoes in Mahogany in a catalog and was happy to find that Zappos even had a better price! I love the look of these shoes, particularly the print strap and sides in this color. They are adorable and I really wanted to like and keep them. However, they are not at all comfortable for me, and I'm not sure they can be broken in, so I will be returning them. I ordered an 8, the size I generally wear and that I wear in a Merrell Jungle Moc. The shoe seems a little shorter than I would expect, and significantly too narrow through the ball of the foot. I felt that my foot couldn't even relax all the way down into the shoe and the balls of my feet were cramped and uncomfortable feeling as I tried these on at home. I also felt that the shoe was too tight and rubbing on the area just above my big toes. If you like this shoe but find you have fit issues similar to mine, I would recommend the Keen Amsterdam, which I have and have loved for a couple of years, or the Born Carlisle, which I have in blue patent leather and find it goes with everything and looks sharp. Both of those shoes are comfortable enough for me to do serious walking in them. I wish the Merrell Plie had been a better fit for me!

Very comfortable. I received these last night, put them on, and didn't take them off for four hours. I wore them to the mall with shorts and they are super cute, and I could walk forever - comfy! They have no arch support, but my Scholl's arches fit into them fine.

Great walking shoe! For the last 2 months, I've been searching for a comfortable walking shoe that I could wear without socks for a trip to Europe in July. I've finally found them! These shoes were comfortable from the moment I put them on, no rubbing or blisters. I have narrow feet and the neoprene strap is snug enough to keep my foot in place but flexible so it doesn't dig into the top of my foot. And for a walking shoe, these are super cute! I'm sure these will be the only shoes I wear while I'm in Europe!
