This was my 2nd pair of Marrell's. While I like the quality and the comfort I was a little disappointed to see they changes the shoe insert. They are still great quality and I'm not giving a bad review, I think it lost a little quality. That said, this Olmec shoe is great and I still give it a 5 star rating. I have worn this pair for just over one full year to date and after giving them a good shine, they look and feel great! Still supportive still comfortable and no wear on the sole at all. Little wear on the uppers after 13 months isn't bad in fact it's great. Good job Merrells. Use me for a commercial any time you want!

While the service that I have received from Zappos was faultless, I have been disappointed with the quality of construction of this shoe. The insole at the Achilles notch wore out within a couple of months revealing a piece of plastic that rubs against the back of my foot and spoils any socks that I wear. I did not expect this to happen so soon, and with such gentle use, especially from a Merrell product. Customers would be advised to stay away.

Excellent outdoors moc. Excellent sole, more durable than the Jungle Moc. Fits a little more snug than the Jungle Moc (which I still love). For running around town or around the home, the Jungle Moc is perfect. But if you still want the Moc comfort and want something that can go off trail, the Olmec is for you. Actually, get both the Jungle Moc and the Olmec. Both are winners.

I bought these to replace a pair of Keens of similar design which are no longer made. I needed a fairly sturdy slip-on which would be up to the rigors of dog-walking, yard work and other chores in all four seasons. The Olmecs look promising so far. Comfortable, secure on the foot, sturdy outsole with aggressive, high-traction lugs. I'd advise giving them a good waterproofing with Nikwax or similar, even though this will darken the nubuck and sort of eliminate the grain.
I'd also recommend: Keens
