I purchased these shoes for daily wear, but with an emphasis on use for travel. I hate packing two pairs of shoes on travel. These shoes look good enough with khakis and my sports coat to wear to conference banquets, are comfortable enough to walk all day sight-seeing, and are water resistant for mild weather. All around they were exactly the shoe for which I was looking... for the first 6 months. Unfortunately, having worn them very regularly, doing nothing extraordinary, the rubber material has started to crack through. On both feet, the rubber's structural integrity and water shield have failed at two points. At the area where the thick rubber around the toes meets the thin rubber, the thin is breaking through. I'm quite disappointed, because otherwise I've been very happy with these shoes. 2 months ago, I would have given them 5 stars. (Sorry Merrell, I know bad reviews are more common than good, even for excellent products.)

I purchased these shoes to wear around town and occasionally to work. They look good with either khakis or jeans. I like the style and comfort of these shoes. They need very little if any break in time. The shoe feels a little large for the marked size. I normally wear a size 13. I probably could have used a half size smaller if available. The shoe is also wider then usual as the toe box is very wide. Overall, I find these shoes to be perfect for my purpose and I highly recommend them!

Got this for my hubby and he loves the style and comfort. He wears a size 10 and it fit perfectly. Maybe I'll get him the other color!

Overall, a comfortable shoe. I spend most of my work day standing and walking on concrete floors, so any shoe I wear has to be top-notch. That being said, this one is comfy, seems durable, and stylish. The toe box is a bit large, and since the lacing doesn't go that far down on the shoe, only a thicker sock will fix that.

Been wearing them about a month. Very comfortable. No break-in time needed. Size runs a little large. I wear 10.5 in running/walking shoes and had to get a size 10 in this one. Am using them as casual general use/office shoes. Have not been hiking in them yet. So far I am happy with them.
