What a great hiking shoe. Without any break-in period, I have already used these to go on about half a dozen hikes here in the low desert of southern California with no rubbing, no blisters, and good, lightweight traction. The only thing to remember is that they're really just a lightweight hiking shoe, not a boot, so any extended hiking or backpacking will require more protection and stiffness. But for non-wet conditions on short day hikes, these are the ticket.

I love Merrell shoes - this one fits well but is heavier than the Siren Sport I bought last time. Better for hiking probably.

Love these shoes! I work on concrete with a lot of walking. They hold up well and are quite supportive. They run a little small. I typically wear an 8, but get an 8 1/2 in these shoes. Highly recommend them!

I chose the Ventilators over some Keens because they were much more comfortable out of the box. But on my first hike, they ate my socks! I solved it by not wearing socks...and they are quite comfortable. It's cold here now, but if I walk fast my feet will be warm!

Love them! I ordered a half size larger since my feet are a little wide, and they're perfect. They're very comfortable from the first wear.

Great shoes! I was looking for a shoe for gardening, light hiking and just generally something comfy to walk around in that wasn't a white with crazy designs tennis shoe or a Ked. These shoes are perfect. They have great support, and the blue looks good with jeans.

Unlike other Merrell shoes I've had, these do seem to be true to size. I ordered a half size larger than my true size to begin with (as I've had to do with all my other Merrells) and they were too big.

Fantastic hiking shoes. True-to-size; comfortable cushy inside; good support. I hiked Joyce Kilmer forest (easy/moderate) and Tallulah Gorge State Park (difficult/strenuous) in these shoes. No rubbing, no achy feet (besides the usual after hiking all day.) I've been a fan of Merrell's for years- they never fail to deliver quality shoes. Definitely recommend.

These are the most wonderful hiking shoes! I've had various foot issues and these shoes are so very comfortable, like putting your feet into a soft mattress, with good support and a wide base. I bought these the week we left for the Rocky Mountains. There was no breaking in time required, and my feet were never sore, even after multiple hikes in the mountains. I really love these shoes. I did buy a half size larger, as I wanted plenty of room for hiking socks. Very speedy delivery, completely satisfied!

The Moab surpassed expectations. Plenty of room in the toe. Needed no break in time, comfortable immediately. Haven't worn them in challenging terrain yet, but I expect the best.

I love these hiking shoe and have been wearing them for years. I loved the old blue color but this color is nice too. I buy these one size bigger than my normal shoe size because my toes seem to blister from hitting the end of any shoe I buy to hike in. Buying them bigger allows for more room in the toe area. I just make sure I lace them snugly and I always add an additional flat cushion insert under the manufacturers insert in all my shoes for more cushioning. I think this comes with age. Also tightening my shoes before I go back down the mountain helps with this as well. These are great shoe, I will buy them forever if they make them forever.
Brands I'd also recommend: addidas response trail runners.

I was really a K**n shoe enthusiast but my husband was so happy with his pair of Merrell shoes being perfect right out of the box I decided to give these a try. I ordered these in a size 7.5 that I normally wear but they were just a tad too short, so returned them free to Zappos and ordered the size 8, which fit perfectly. They are indeed comfortable right out of the box, no break in period. I never heard of the Q-angle before, but that really does make a difference, could tell my foot was being placed much more evenly on the hard asphalt surface I walk on. Will be ordering another pair in different color. Great shoe for hot California summers, keeps foot aired out well. Now I am a believer in Merrell.

I discovered Merrell after I had to have foot surgery due to taking ballet for many years. I decided I was no longer going to buy cheap shoes and needed to take care of my feet from now on. Merrell has become my shoe brand of choice now and this shoe has become my all-time favorite shoe. It is seriously the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. My entire foot is supported, the sole is thick and cushiony, and there are no areas of the shoe that have to be worked in. I have no complaints about this shoe and cannot say enough good things about it. Plus, these colors are great! I am going to get a second pair in a different color.

Love these hiking shoes! They arrived and a couple days later I wore them on a 4 mile hike. Perfectly comfortable and no break in time needed. My winter hiking boots are also Merrell so I knew these would be great.

I have plantar facsiitis and wore these shoes right out of the box hiking in Yosemite and the Grand Canyon. Fit perfectly and didn't need breaking in. Best walking/hiking shoes. No problems whatsoever!

These are great three season shoes. I use them for urban hiking and light trail hiking, usually up to 7-10 miles. They are lightweight, flexible, have good traction; they also have good support and cushioning. Not much,if any, arch support but I use orthotics.
Brands I'd also recommend: Ecco, Keen
