- 4.5mm anatomical footbed with compression-molded EVA footframe and nylon 6.6 injection-molded arch shank.

I was looking for a shoe with stability and protection but a lighter weight and more flexibility than most hiking shoes. This one did the trick. I have custom orthotics to insert, and there was plenty of room for them and my toes too.

Even I ordered the same number as other Merrell shoes, this model is smaller. I took them for an abroad trip as my walking shoes and they've been a pain! I wish I could return them

RE: All views but the video of the Ventilator fail to show the tops of the shoestrings. You got to tie these shoestrings. I'm a Merrell man from way back and own lots of them. My similar Merrel Continuum or Vibram shoes have adjustable tension on shoelaces, but you don't have to tie them. Why buy shoes you got to tie? Keep looking at Merrell and checking stores, and you'll find them "kenner" than any other hiking or trekking shoe. Yeah, I wear training shoes and others, but these are special shoes I'm talking about. ONE COMPLAINT about another wonderful Merrell shoe: One with elastic laces in gray and super light and breathable came out for women several years ago. I immediately bought that pair for my wife and started looking for the same, exact counterpart in the Merrell man's shoe line. Nada! Nada forever. I would buy one today. Come on back, Merrell! She still gets compliments every time she wears that special gray pair. Jcg
I'd also recommend: A variety of Merrell shoes--including the suedes, etc. New Balance too.

I'm hard to fit (13 EE), so I usually stick to New Balance or maybe Clark's. been looking for another brand to add some variety, and boy did I find it in these shoes. So comfortable and they look far more stylish than my NB. could have only done this at Zappos as I ordered and returned (free) two other pairs of shoes before lucking into the Merrells.
I'd also recommend: NB

The word, Ventilator is a total misnomer. This shoe has no ventilation whatsoever. It is a cold weather hiking shoe. I am still finding a shoe comparable to the Vasque Low Breeze (Discontinued), a shoe that has real ventilation and is perfect for desert/hot climate hiking!
I'd also recommend: Vasque Low Breeze (Discontinued)

These Merrell Moab's replaced another pair that I had worn for over 3 years and they fit and and wear well, I can't fight success. It should be also noted that I have found that Zappos has the best customer service one can find anywhere. Thanks.
