I love these shoes! Not only are they lightweight and very comfortable, they make my feet look smaller than a 10½! Everything a girl could ask for! This is my first pair of Merrell's, and my first shopping trip at Zappos. It will not be my last of either.

Really like these. Nice look. Very comfortable right off. I need the higher side for ankle support and these fit well there without rubbing ankle. Husband had previous issue with a Merrell boot where the top islet popped out but we'll see how these do. I unfortunately have arch issues and have to put in my own inserts so hard to give input on arch support question.

I broke my ankle for the second time and decided to wear high top shoes to protect my ankle. I wanted a light pair that would not be as heavy as boots and could act like sneakers for daily use. These shoes fit my bill to a tee! They have great arch support and ankle support and are light enough for daily wear. I am so happy with them I am ordering a second pair.

I love these hikers! Merrell seems to never let me down! So comfy. They are a cool light weight hiker great for Summer hikes and even brand new on long hikes, my feet were comfortable and they didn't have to be broken in. I highly recommend them. They are a tad bit smaller than my Merrell winter hikers that I got in the same size, but work for me because I like really thin hiking socks in the Summer months. Only thing that would make them better is if they came in pink. :)

I recently wore these shoes in Tanzania for two weeks. Whether going up and down trails or huge rocks, they functioned really well. They were very comfortable right out of the box. I did have to order up a whole size because they needed to accommodate my orthotics plus the shoe seems to run small. However, there is a lot of room in the toe box area. I've worn Merrell sandals for a few years but never the shoes until now.

After looking at the online reviews of this boot, I purchased it for moderate terrain hiking in MT. Per the recommendations, I purchased 1/2 size larger and was glad I did. It was the right decision. The boot fit perfectly. I was concerned I did not take time to break it in before my first hike, but there was nothing to worry about. The boot fit comfortably from the moment I put it on and throughout several days of hiking. I am very pleased with this purchase.

Just got these boots and I am testing them at home. Haven't tested them on the trail yet but after trying many others I know these feel right. I have a little wider feet and a bunion on the left foot and it is very hard to find comfortable shoes that deliver performance as well. I know I finally found the right pair! I usually buy size 9 of Merrell shoes but got 9.5 of these boots and I am glad I did. They feel roomy and I know my feet will thank me when they swell after hours of hiking.

I purchased these shoes to support a bad ankle and they did that. They are even more comfortable than I expected.

I did not have a chance to "break" these shoes in prior to hiking. They were comfortable. I have narrow feet so I put my orthotics in without taking out the insoles (ordered 1/2 size too big) and they fit perfectly. My only complaint is that they are not waterproof. Every time we met other hikers on the trail they had the same boots on.

I wore these right out of the box on a 1½ mile easy hike, then the next day on a 7 mile hike in 75° weather. They provided great traction, cushioning, and stability on rocky trails, and I did not get a single blister! I usually wear a size 8½ in heels and a 9 in running shoes, but I sized up to a 9½ in these to accomodate some decent hiking socks (Smartwool midweight) and they fit perfectly.

I wear a 9 1/2 in running shoes (Saucony) and I bought these in a size 10 based on other reviews. They fit just right in the length and a tad wide in width. This allows me to wear liners or thicker socks which I like. Very comfortable boot from the start! It's not my boot of choice for steep off-trail hikes - I need more ankle support and a stiffer boot for that. But I love the light weight and breathability of this boot for trail hiking or off-trail hiking on gentle to moderate slopes.

I needed a shoe I could use as duty boots in Afghanistan. had the regular tall duty boots, but frankly my feet were melting in them. This was my first pair of Merrell's and I've really liked them so far. Comfortable and lightweight with really good traction on the sole. I can see these being excellent hikers as well. First pair of Merrell shoes, but I doubt they will be my last.

I am a Merrell fan. These shows fit perfectly. The best part, is when they've been worn for a while, your foot is in heaven! Also, Zappos gets them to you just in time to break in before that big hike!

I am very pleased with the hiking boots and the fast delivery from Zappos! Although I have not fully tested them out yet on a hike, I have worn them around the house to break them in and they are comfortable. I don't think they need "breaking in."

Love these. Have narrow feet and use orthotics. After wearing Keens for a year, which I loved, I started having problems with pain in a pinkie toe. Got the Merrells in a half size larger than my normal, and problem was solved. The Keens are great, but these fit my foot shape better. Am able to lace them tight enough to fit with no problem. Wore them to teach in all day with no break in period and no pain. Forgot they were there. Haven't done much hiking yet, but they have good tread and support for a light hiker.
Brands I'd also recommend: ryka, keen, columbia

Went up half a size based on reviews, but not quite big enough. I now have an order in for a full size up -- the shoe has the potential to be very comfortable and supportive as long as it is the correct size.

I love Merrell boots. They're sturdy, they fit just right and they look good. But good luck finding a pair on the Big Island. There's just only so many shoe stores and I've never found one with these. Zappos has come to my rescue. I am so happy to be able to buy my favorite boots online. Thanks so much!
