I have wide and flat size 13 feet. That leaves me few options that feel really comfortable. I'm happy to report that the fit on these seems exactly like my Moab Vent low-tops. I have had to replace the insoles, but I kind of expect that given my foot. We haven't had too many rainy days yet, but it seemed to hold up to some puddles. The footbed seemed ok on wet asphalt, wet diamond rise metal plates, wet metal grates and soft soil. It was dangerously slick on a restaurant's wet granite tile floor, but given that knowledge, it was ok w/careful steps.

Warning; may fall apart under pressure. NOTE: This review is in regards to the "MID-sized" style of this shoe that goes up higher on the ankle than the one about. Otherwise, the same shoe though. Disappointed for several reasons: A) was not exactly waterproof from the start. B) after heavy use including frequent exposure to water and sunlight, the inside stiffened and became very uncomfortable. C) under daily squatting and kneeling, the front end of the right shoe CAME OFF COMPLETELY, the adhesive just disintegrated and it peeled right off. These were straining conditions (I work at a farm), but still, this shoe did not stand up as I expected.

As a veteran and a military contractor I can truly appreciate the importance of "business tactical." If fashion met function, 9 months and one night of unbridled passion later, the Merrell Moabs would be their offspring. Whether you're navigating the local hiking trails on an "activity date" with a woman who finally found time for you in her busy yoga and triathlon training schedule, or trying to find the quickest way to the DFAC; the Moabs won't let you down. The Moabs sit upon a Vibram foundation of chiseled rubber. The perfection of which is reminiscent of Michelangelo's David and is said to be inspired from Hephaestus' personal designs. Their superstructure is the ultimate marriage of strength and breath-ability, which will undoubtedly leave future archeologists befuddled by their perfection.

Great shoe, had to exchange my 9 for 9.5 since they were a little too tight with the socks I wear. I suspect they run a half size small. I had the same problem with another pair. Definitely waterproof. Went walking through a muddy bog and just hosed them off when I was done, good as new and dry on the inside.

I bought these for my husband after his current pair of Merrells of 15 years finally gave up. These shoes are awesome, super supportive, and they look great on him. He wears them every day, and between farm work and walking they still look new.

OMG, these are the best hiking shoes that I have ever owned! I have owned several pairs of hiking shoes, and boots from other companies over the past 4 years of my short hiking life, but none fit and feel as good as these. I have always had difficulty finding a good fitting hiking shoe, because my feet are a 10 wide, and Merrell, I just discovered, is one of the few companies that put out hiking footwear in wide sizes. I literally just returned from a 10 day campimg trip in the NH White Mountains. I wore them on the flights up, and back, and hiked up to the top of Mt. Washington, as well as on a number of other mountain trails around Mt. Washington. They were so comfortable that I didn't even know that I had them om my feet, even after flying, or hiking all day. The treads gripped well on the very rocky, rugged terrain that I encountered on most of the trails I adventured out on. I must say that I did make one modification, and that was to change out the insoles for a pair of Powerstep insoles which worked better with my high arches. I do love these shoes, and I am amazed at how comfortable they are and how well they perform!
