Wearing these shoes felt like standing on a railroad track. I was looking for a decent walking shoe that would replace an old pair of New Balance I have. I had had a pair of Merrells years ago and hoped these would be a decent replacement, but I was wrong. The shoe felt narrower than I thought it would be. Although I have high arches, the arch support felt too high and too far back, as it nearly hit the heel of my foot. I had to shift my foot around in order to find what can only be described as a grove in between the inner arch support and the outer edge of the shoe's insert to get relatively comfortable, and even then I felt like my feet were being squeezed. The style wasn't really my bag either. A little too Rockport-ish. A pair of white socks with these shoes would leave me looking like I went off the deep end.

I have worn these shoes for about two weeks now and I love them. They are very comfortable and look more dressy than an athletic shoe. I really like the traction they have too.

Comfortable and good fit, decent arch support, available in a wide range of sizes. The laces the shoes come with are kind of cheap, but that's easily fixed. The "black" color is darker than pictured.

I purchased this shoe for my husband and ordered the same size as his other Merrell shoe; however, it was about a half size too small. I reordered the correct size and he loves the shoe - said he will be buying this shoe again.

I have been a big fan of Merrell shoes for about 5 years now. I work in a retail pharmacy and am on my feet for 6-8 hours at a time. They were recommended by a co-worker when I was complaining about back and foot pain. I was not used to standing for such long periods. This style of Merrell shoe made a huge difference right away and I never go to work without wearing them! I only have to replace them twice a year.

I tried these shoes as work shoes last year. I do a lot of walking indoors and out doors on concrete at work so getting comfortable, long lasting shoes for all the walking I do is not easy. These shoes lasted me twice as long as any other and the comfort is excellent. I liked them so much that I purchased two more pairs, one for work and one for home. The toe box is just a little larger than normal which is good for long days at work. I highly recommend them.
