Better for slender feet than chubby feet... I purchased two pairs of these, one pair for my three-year-old who has lost the baby fat in his feet and one pair for my 18-month-old who has not lost the baby fat in his chubby little feet. My three-year-old loves them and can pull them on and off by himself. That's always a bonus when you have more than one small child. My 18-month-old doesn't seem to mind them, but when I pulled them off his feet, you could see the marks that shoes left from digging into his baby chub. They're good looking shoes, and they appear to be well made, but I wouldn't buy them again for my younger son until he loses his baby chub. They definitely seem to run a tad narrow. Also, if your child has slender feet, but a high instep, they still might not work.

Excellent shoes for active kids! I bought a pair of these shoes for my 3 yr. old grandson so he could put them on by himself and plus Merrells are highly rated shoes in my book! They fit well, have plenty of room in the toe area, and have the best arch support I have ever seen in a shoe! Good investment for children's feet!

These are the best, too bad my grandson will outgrow these before they can ever wear out! They fit perfectly for his wide foot. He never even tries to take them off like most of his shoes.

These shoes are great looking and very comfortable (flexible). They are great as both a walking shoe and for dressier outfits. A bit hard to get on the first week until they broke in, but my son loves them (and he's very picky). Definitely one of the better shoes has owned for the money.

These are great shoes. They are well-made and are a very good value for money compared to other children's shoes. Plus, they are very easy to get on and off - a real plus when you have to do that several times a day getting your child in and out of their snow suit. Despite being easy to get on and off they actually stay on my daughter’s feet and fit very well. We love these shoes!

We're on our second pair and getting ready to order another for my 2 year old. He loves them and they hold up really well. The only reason to order another pair is that his feet are growing like crazy but they're still in good enough shape to save as hand-me-downs. As mentioned, he can put them on himself which at this point of new-found independence is very helpful!

Great looking shoes for my 2 year old. However, he must have high arches because they were too tight across the top. The base foot size seemed appropriate, however.

These are the perfect toddler shoes. He can put them on himself, no laces to come untied, good fit and no slipping. I was initially reluctant to buy them because of the price, but now know they are well worth the outlay.
