These shoes fit well, however the lacing system needs improvement. They are too difficult for my 5 year old to operate and even once tightened by an adult they loosen quite quickly - the shoes then slip off. Great shoe apart from lacing - we have resorted to a regular tie lace with them.

My 7 year old loves these shoes! Great support, the heel area fits perfectly. Both my girls have very narrow feet, so these are perfect. I disagree with the other reviewer who mentioned the lacing system being too difficult. She loves that part.

Great stylish shoe. Sinch mechanism loosened up the first time we used them. Came with regular laces so we are just using those.

My 4 year old loves these shoes! They are very cute and durable. She is still trying to figure out the draw string style lace, but otherwise we are happy with our purchase.

Overall happy. Shoes are sturdy and substantial. They fit snugly around her foot (in the sense that they don't have the same sloppiness that many cheaper shoes do. One picky complaint I have is that the sewing around the top of the shoe is not great. On both shoes, some of the stuffing of the shoe is showing at the edge. Also, the trim around the top is a little uneven. As long as it doesn't snag on anything, it will be fine, but it bothered me a little considering how much we paid for these. There were also some visible glue spots around the bottom of the shoe. Since they don't effect the functionality, we kept them, and our 3.5 year old is very pleased with them.

These shoes are really nice looking, and seemingly very comfortable: my daughter has happily worn them almost every day since she got them. We gave up on the toggle right away, it was just too hard for her to pinch it enough for the laces to slide. Unfortunately, you have to cut the laces to get the toggle contraption off, so once you make that decision, you cannot go back. That being said, she uses the regular laces that were included, and that works out fine. If the toggle gizmo had been a bit more practical, I would have given these five stars.

These shoes did not disappoint! Size was right, and the toggle closure was great for my daughter. It allows her to be independent. She tells me that these shoes are comfortable, and she's worn them for about 4 months now and they still look and feel great. I highly recommend this shoe.

My daughter has flat feet and needs arch support. These shoes are fantastic and offer the support she needs. These are hard to tighten with the quick ties, also, we had to cut them off to put the regular shoestrings on in order to keep the shoes from slipping off.

These shoes are just what we were looking for! Something pretty to satisfy mom and rugged to keep up with us on hikes and climbing around. They are well made and durable. Normally, I don't like toggle shoes, but this one is user friendly. We decided to buy these as her every day shoes to have them nice and broken in for long hikes. The color is nice because the red dirt here makes shoes dirty real quick. Love them and bough the next size up already!

Best shoes. I bought the same ones in a larger size when my daughter outgrew these. They last forever, great quality. My 4 year old loves that she can put them on herself with the toggle. Worth every penny!

What a great kid's shoe! My daughter is a little picky when it comes to sneakers and is uncomfortable unless she can get the fit just right, and these happen to have the perfect lace-up system so she can tighten/loosen things up where needed. She needs a bit of help with the toggles sometimes, but otherwise, these have been easy on-and-off shoes. She's worn these nearly everyday for a few months now and they are holding up really nicely, something I find common in Merrell shoes. With that in mind, they are generally worth the price. I went a half size up, and the fit was roomy but not excessive.
