I was looking for an easy winter boot to wear for errands in the snow. This won't work for me. It is almost like a tall slipper with a good sole. The sheepskin is really quite soft and I can't imagine getting these wet. I also can't imagine that these can endure any major outdoor action. I didn't read the description close enough to understand that the sturdiest part of these is the suede criss cross trim. Why make a winter boot from soft sheepskin? I have a narrow to medium foot and these were comfy but didn't hug my foot enough to hold me in well, not to mention that I'm sure they would stretch. I ordered about 10 pairs of size 11 shoes and these were the only ones that felt true to size, all the others were too short. They seem like they would be lovely for around the house, inside and outside, but not for vigorous activities. Sending them back and keeping the Ugg Caspia's.

These are extremely comfortable shoes, but I don't think they'd stand up to the snow. Furthermore, the "cocoa" color looks a bit grimy. Maybe the black would be better. Unfortunately, these are going back.

This pair of the Merrell Encore Flurry is fantastic! I have been wanting a warm boot lower than mid thigh but above the ankle. I usually experience a lot of unsupported space inside of boot that I have tried on. So I am hesitant to order any online. But since Merrell has fit true to size for me in the past, I took a chance and I was very pleased with the results. The boots fit true to size, they slip on and off made easy by the side elastic, and they hug my feet with warmth and arch support.I like the sole.It is rugged enough to walk over gravel but smooth enough to walk on the sidewalk. The tiny uplift of the heel also gives it a boost of style that is not overdone. These shoes are not cheap. But if you are looking for a slimmer fit that offers warmth, arch support,and style, these shoes are well worth the money. I was so anxious to get them, that I splurged on 1 day delivery and received them right on time. Now I can take them with me on my trip to Nevada.
Brands I'd also recommend: Born; Cole Hahn with the Nike sole; Ecco; and Teva
