Just got my second pair. First pair were 7 years old and got thrown away without my knowledge. First pair were made in France, this pair is made in Portugal. Sole material feels tougher in new ones. Leather feels thicker in new ones. The insoles seem different, but I cannot identify how. Size and fit feel the same, and there's nice even lace tension. No pinching anywhere. Arch support seems identical. Looked build quality over very closely, and they are built very, very well. Feel more cushioned compared to the Storm.

I was somewhat hesitant to buy these shoes given the price, but they are well worth it (so far). I have chronic heel pain and it is difficult to find shoes that I can walk in much more than 10 or 15 minutes. So far, these Mephistos have been great. They fit snug and literally mold to the foot almost immediately. I bought them in the tan grain leather, and they are nice looking on top of being comfortable. I have been able to wear these shoes, believe it or not, without the custom orthotics I wear in my other shoes. There is so much support, an orthotic has not been needed (again, so far). The soles are thick and supportive. The leather used is thick, soft and durable, and they are lined with soft leather which surrounds the foot. These really are worth the money all things considered. One note, the salesman told me the shoes run a half size large and he was right. Buy them a half size under your normal size.

I've finally found a great lace up walking shoe for my trip to Europe. I'm a woman with a slightly wide foot. The Mephisto Rush (the women's version of this shoe) runs narrow, so decided to try these. Wonderfully comfortable with good support, cushioning and a great outsole for taking on cobblestones.

I was looking for a shoe that I could walk all day on a concrete floor and be comfortable. I am a large man with size 15 feet so I do not always get the best selection. A friend recommended these to me and I was very pleased. These are the most comfortable shoes I have ever owned. The cost a bit more than I would normally pay for this type of shoe, but they are worth it. In this case you do get what you pay for. And Zappos is great because they are the first place I go to when buying shoes, and even with my harder to find size, they had a pair in stock.

This shoe defines comfort. If I'm going into the city, mall or any place that causes me to be on my feet...especially on concrete these are the shoes I wear. I've had these for several years and they look and feel just like they were purchased. You can't go wrong with this shoe, it may be a high dollar item but they're high quality.This is one pair of shoes that will give you your money's worth.

These are the only shoes I have been able to wear for walking for many years now; I keep two pair and rotate them to extend the lifespan. They accept my custom orthotics and provide exceptional support. I walk everyday about 45min to an hour, paint in a standing position (I am an artist) and have a standing computer workstation. This is the right shoe for me, despite a relatively high cost.

I always dread buying new shoes because they either never carry my size in the styles I like or they end up not being very comfortable after being on my feet all day.This was the second pair of shoes I purchased within a month because the first pair (Clarks Nature 2) although much cheaper didn't feel comfortable after extended use as they were much to soft in the sole.I hesitatingly tried on the Mephisto Match shoes thinking I would never pay money for a pair of shoes! To my surprise they fit like a glove and my weight felt evenly dispersed across the entire foot bed. The craftsmanship of the shoe was superb and the soles were supportive without feeling spongy as most walking shoes are. I have had them for three months now and I am very happy with my purchase!

These shoes are great! My second pair in ten years. Comfortable, true to size and surprisingly durable. Not much to look at, but a perfect shoe for everyday wear.

I have several pairs of Mephisto shoes. It's been an expensive initial investment but it's worth it because of the comfort and quality Mephisto offers. The Match are excellent walking shoes. I also own a pair of the Storm. I thought the Storm were good walking shoes too, but having worn the Match; I realize there is a big difference. The Match provides a great deal more support (especially in the arch) and is a more durable, yet heavier, shoe. The Storm are great for me in my classroom on my feet all day, but I probably won't wear them for anything more than a stroll. The Match will get me to work and the Storm will be worn once I arrive. I normally wear a size 12 but go with an 11.5 in Mephisto and still have enough wiggle room. Very content with my purchase and Zappos excellent service.

I have been wearing only Mephisto shoes for 15 years and have had each pair reworked at the Mephisto factory twice. They have saved my back. They are well worth the price.

I am on my feet working in a counter service capacity for over 10 hours a day. Before I had these shoes my feet suffered and the pain was building to a point where I was really beginning to worry. My brother told me about Mephisto and I ordered these Match shoes and everything changed. Instead of continuing to worsen my feet began improving until the pain disappeared. I have worn them ever since for work and even when I was traveling and exploring parts of Mexico. They are the best shoes I have ever owned.
