Mephisto makes the most comfortable shoe! This one has the added bonus of a curved toe that reduces the "clunky" look. Incredible support, especially if you have to wear orthotics. I'm hoping the suede finish holds up well. These are great shoes for travel as they slip on and off so easily at the airport.

I’ve worn Mephistos for years; however seems the older I get the wider my feet get. Had a similar pair to these years ago only with gussets on the sides that I loved. Unfortunately with a wide foot and high instep, I couldn't even get these on. I'm sure anyone with 'normal' feet would find these both attractive and comfortable.

These shoes are just too cute for words! They did have to be returned, however, as I 'must' wear my 'mega' orthotics. The orthotics fit in the shoe, but then made the shoe way too tight. If you can get by without orthotics, these have comfort; support and looks.

I love these shoes. They fit my foot like a glove and are very comfortable. I take trains to work each day and walk a lot in DC and these are perfect to wear with office clothes and walk a lot!

Once I broke this shoe in, it was great to walk in. There were two problems. It took a few weeks to get comfortable and the elastic is tight but loosens up eventually. Painful until then. I can't get it repaired anywhere! Eventually I need it re-heeled or re-soled. Forget it. For such an expensive shoe, I would want to be able to repair and re-use. But no. The upper material eventually fades but I could not re-polish it because it was the wrong material for shoe polish. Could Zappos please sell replacement soles?

I have difficult to fit feet. These shoes are perfect in that I can wear a small orthotic with them. They have held their shape and, with pre wear treatment of suede water protection, they are excellent for travel.

If you have any problem with foot comfort and need orthotics, this is the shoe for you. It holds your foot in place nicely and provides a good arch. Only negative - the suede gets scuffed looking almost immediately.

I have been suffering from Peroneal Tendonitis for 5 months. It is so painful I can hardly walk. My husband and I had planned a mini vacation to take our grandaughter to Disneyland for spring break. I had no idea how I was going to be able to get around. I orderd these shoes and they arrived 2 days before we left. They were a life saver! The support is tremendous and it took the stress and pressure off the tendon. The shoe supports the foot in all the right places and as a result I was able to enjoy our time at Disneyland. I was probably on my feet 10 hours a day and able to enjoy myself. Whilke the shoe is expensive it is so worth it! Zappos return policy takes the worry out of not liking anything I buy. How can you go wrong? They probably have the best customer service of ANY company I deal with.

Wonderful shoes. Extremely comfortable! I have trouble finding shoes for my feet and these are simply perfect: they feel like slippers the minute you put them on. However, I ended up ordering a half size larger than usual.
