I didn't know about MBT shoes until I saw a fitness director and others wearing them at a gym. When asked how they liked their MBTs, the reply was always, "They're great!" It took me a long time to come around to thinking it was even possible that a pair of shoes could benefit me sufficiently to be worth that price. If I had gone with the Sport Lows sooner, I would have avoided some tendinitis that I brought on by wearing lesser shoes and walking a big flea market! Also, my kitchen has a tile floor that's very hard on feet and back, but these shoes have so much cushion and support that it no longer bothers me! Getting used to the MBT concept for me was not a problem and the shoes were comfortable straight from the box. I especially like the lacing system and comfy shoe tongue styling. I measure size 7-1/2 and these in 7-1/2 fit perfectly. My thinking on the future is why would I ever want to switch from MBT for my standard shoe. Price? Maybe, but the quality is such they will wear well and I honestly like the look and the feel of walking in these shoes. Add me to the Zappos fans; they had the size, color and style that I had searched for in two cities, and their service is personable and a cut above.

After a bad auto accident 8 years ago I was barely walking. Three years ago I discovered MBTs and they have changed my life. Of course I still can't walk very far, but am now independent enough to drive and then walk from a handicap parking space into an electric cart in a store. I have introduced MBTs to many people who have also been greatly helped by them. I can only wear a few styles as I need deep heel and toe boxes (have to build the right shoe up 5/8"). The Sport Low has those features, plus they do not rub the place on my ankle where I have pins and rods. Zappos is helpful over the phone, courteous, carry all MBT styles and deliver promptly.

I have been walking with these shoes for approximately 3 weeks. I love what it is doing for my legs and bottom, the only complaint is I am still getting blisters after every 3 mile walk. But still worth the little pain. The feeling you get after walking with this shoes gives you a feel of satisfaction you walked and are getting results. I will eventually get myself a black pair to match my walking gear. Thanks to the genius that came up with such a shoe.

I love my MBTs. I was really unsure weather I should buy a pair seeing as they are a bit pricey, but they are worth every penny. I was training to run a marathon, but that came to a standstill when my knee gave out on me. My Mother would not stop talking about the difference the MBTs had made for her. She went from having spurs on her heels which made walking her dogs impossible without pain, to being able to walk three miles at a time with no discomfort. On account of this change she lost eighteen pounds. I decided to give them a try and I am so glad I did. I no longer have knee pain and I can walk for ten miles at a time with no discomfort. I hope to start training for the marathon again. I don't recommend running with these shoes, which is why I will be using a different pair of shoes for marathon training, but these are great for brisk walking. I do want to mention that after doing quite of bit of research about the difference between the Skechers Shape-Ups and the MBTs, I went with the MBTs. I noticed when I tried on the Shape-Ups at the store and walked in them for a bit that my feet had very little support and seemed to sink into them. Yes, they were more comfortable then a regular tennis shoe, but they basically just felt like the only difference was the foam. So in short though they are cheaper than the MBTs, I am really glad I chose as I did.

I totally love these shoes. They have helped my hip and knee pain tremendously. I highly recommend these shoes. Wish they would make a little dressier one this comfortable for women to wear for dress. I train for BeautiControl and stand for 8 hours and would love to wear these while training so I'm not as exhausted at the end of the day!

Additional Brand Information

MBT shoes are physiological footwear - the first footwear that has a positive effect on the entire body. MBT stands for "Masai Barefoot Technology." MBT sneakers and casual shoes are designed using a multi-layered, curved sole which makes for a unique and rewarding walking experience. Few shoes can keep your muscles engaged in a purposeful way, but this is what MBT has done.

The many benefits of MBT shoes are not only substantiated by numerous scientific studies; they are also being enjoyed on a daily basis by more and more health- and fitness-conscious people who improve their physical fitness by merely wearing this physiological footwear. MBT shoes can activate neglected muscles and tone and shape the entire body.

Doctors and physiotherapists recommend MBTs as an effective therapeutic tool, and top athletes like Benni Raich and Michael von Grünigen use their MBT sneakers as mini training and regeneration centers. Shoes designed by MBT can have a positive impact in improving posture and gait, reducing stress on the knees and hips, and even help with joint, ligament and tendon injuries.

These are really nice shoes, but they run narrow. I'd suggest a half to a full size larger than the size you usually wear.

As a nurse with a bad back, I have found that these shoes do everything they say they do. I'm so satisfied with them, that I just bought 2 more pairs: dress and hiking. I thought I would have a hard time adjusting to them, but not so. As soon as I put them on, it was pure comfort and support. I cannot say enough good things about them. I will always wear MBT shoes whether it's work, play or business. They really take the stress off of my back.

Love them! I am a nurse and work 12 hour shifts. I was going through new shoes every 3 months. I suffer from morton's neuroma and it is not easy to find shoes that do not irritate. I have the same pair of MBTs now for 3 years! I need to get the soles replaced, but other than that... they are a "foot saver"! There are imitations out there now, but I will never buy anything but MBTs!

So far I really like these shoes. I found they did run a size small. They felt weird at first, but today after 13 hours at work, my back didn't hurt like it usually does. Really does help with your posture, too.

I have the M walk MBTs and they are the only shoe that has cured my planter fasciitis. I am now able to stand on my feet again for 10 hrs at a time without foot pain! The sport low, however were not comfortable because my heel slipped out of the back and gave me blisters.

I have been having problems with my ankle tendons for well over a year. Two doctors said that I would be in an air cast or specially made cast with orthotics for the rest of my life. A third orthopedist said that I needed an operation that would have me off my leg for 3 months and on crutches for another 3 months. They described the operation as worse than if I had shattered all the bones. \r\nMy acupunturist recommended MBT shoes. I bought the shoes 2 sizes bigger than I normally would get so that I could put in my inserts and the cast. Using the cast and the MBT\'s allowed me to be pain free and even be able to dance. After buying 6 pairs of MBT\'s, everything from work shoes, sneakers, dress shoes and sandles, I visited with yet another dr. in NYC. He said that the MRI showed that I truly needed an operation, but was interested in how I was able to compensate enough to gain strength in other areas of my ankle so that I could now walk, although with discomfort across the room without a shoe. I could eve briefly go up to stand on my toes. \r\nThe answer is simple. MBT shoes allowed me to actually exercise my ankle all day!!! \r\nBecause I was able to develop other areas of my ankle I was given another option instead of an operation. I had a simple procedure called PRP - Platelet Rich Plasma. I can now wear MBT\'s with out a brace and walk without pain!!!\r\n\r\n

I bought these after much prodding from my supervisor at work. I hated to pay so much for a pair of shoes but had some extra earnings and went ahead and got them. I never thought I would love them so much! They are the most comfortable shoes ever and I never quite get used to the workout I get in them. I am part of a walking group at work and when I miss just 1 day, my calves, thighs and glutes definitely feel it when I walk with them again that night and the following morning. I am SO glad I got these shoes! They are the best!

I had been thinking of buying a pair of MBTs for several years and finally spent the money. I walk and jog in them on the treadmill. They are giving my legs a very good workout. However, the right shoe keeps rubbing a blister on my heel. I have tried lacing the shoes tighter to avoid friction but it doesn't seem to help. I think the "Lowness" of the back of the shoe is causing it to slip easily and rub my heel. I am considering contacting MBT to see if this has been a design problem with this particular style. I would recommend purchasing a pair of MBTs but in a different style to avoid this issue.

I got these shoes about 2 years ago, before I had these every time I would work out my shins and my feet would hurt a lot! Not with these.

Finally got a great shoe! I finally got this shoe in the right size and I love it now. For some reason all of the reviews I read said to buy a size up? So, in taking this advice (I am usually a 9.5) I ordered a 10.5- which scared me, but I was trusting the reviews. OMG- they were HUGE!! I thought maybe a 10- still huge. So I finally just got my real size 9.5 and they finally fit. Maybe it has something to do with the fact that I have a narrow foot? They are still a bit wide- but doable. Thank you Zappos for all of the free shipping, etc. etc.- Thank goodness they finally worked out. Great shoe- so comfy- and takes away my hip pain when I wear them!!

The most comfortable shoe I have ever had. I did go up 1/2 size, they fit great. A tiny bit wide at the heel, but not enough to make me take them off! Lots of room for socks. It is a big investment but one you won't regret. I exercise normally so I did not notice anything new in that area, but what I did notice was how my back and feet did not hurt after walking and standing in them all day. Can't say enough about these shoes.

TRUE Short Story as to why a poor girl like me would pay this much for a pair of shoes. I had a bad break in my leg. I had to teach myself how to walk again after. These shoes really worked! As I was researching to sell these today, I ran across the MBT website. Here’s a quote: “The body reacts to natural instability with intuitive compensatory movements; this provides neglected muscles with effective exercise.” THIS is why it worked. I recommend MBT to everyone needing to build muscle and correct posture.

MBTs save back/knees on city streets - Great shoe. Saves back and knees. But this goes for all MBTs. I give this one a 4 for comfort because it slips in the heel more with the low cut. Prefer the higher, more secure lacing. I got these for the pure black color of them -- look great with long black yoga pants -- longer-looking legs. Hoping the heel slippage goes away with an insert. Or thicker socks...

Great shoe - Great shoe - did some initial research on this shoe and would highly recommend it. Takes a bit to get used to the rolling of the shoe, but follow the instructions (it comes with a DVD) and all should be fine. Helps keep your core tight.

Very wide MBTs - I owned another pair of MBTs but a different tennis shoe style. With MBT's you go up a size but these are much wider than I expected. I think they are too big and my foot is swimming in them. So I am upset that I spent so much money and have a shoe that is not what I wanted. MBTs in general are great shoes but beware of the fit.
