Product Information:
  • MBT® advises the M.Walk runs 1/2 size small, therefore you may want to order 1/2 size up from your normal size. For instance, if you wear a size 38 1/3 (US 8), choose a size 39 (US 8.5).
  • "Masai Barefoot Technology" or MBT® is the first physiological footwear that has a positive effect on the whole body.
  • The 'M.Walk '08' is the latest version of the popular M.Walk.
  • Synthetic leather and single-layer mesh upper affords cool and durable wear.
  • Padded tongue and collar prevents rubbing.
  • TPU and glass fiber shank supplies requisite rigidity to the sole construction. The stiffness of the shank provides a natural rolling movement of the foot and equalizes pressure distribution over the whole sole.
  • The balancing area underneath the metatarsus is a vital part of the PU midsole and requires an active rolling movement with every step.
  • The PU Masai Sensor, the essence of Masai Barefoot Technology, produces a pleasant sensation with every step reminiscent of walking on a sandy beach or soft moss.
  • As a result of the PU midsole and Masai Sensor, a environment of 3D instability is created. The body is forced to maintain its balance through muscular exertion. Neglected muscle groups are activated to perform the balancing movements.
  • Sturdy rubber outsole offers support and traction from the urban jungle.
  • 17.00 oz.
  • Product measurements were taken using size 36 1/3 (US Women's 6.5). Please note that measurements may vary by size.

Excellent shoes. The video really shows the proper way to walk in the MBTs. I can already feel myself not slouching as I walk.

I recently had a lumbar spinal fusion & walking is the only form of exercise I can do. After wearing my MBT shoes for the first time I noticed that I stood straighter and had slightly less lower back pain. For people with lower back pain, I think they are worth the high cost. As to sizing, buy at least 1/2 size up from your regular size and if there is any doubt, go a full size up. I wear between a 7 & 7.5 normally and I ordered an 8 in these shoes. They fit just a tad snug. The next pair I buy will probably be an 8.5. That I'm already thinking of my next pair despite the expense tells you how happy I am with these shoes!

I love my MBTs! I have flat feet and lots of pain from standing and walking. The way the MBTs rock, there isn\'t excessive pressure on a single part of my foot and I can do more with less pain. They say not to use orthotics with them, but the way my feet roll in, I have to and it helps a lot. \r\n\r\nNot all MBTs work for me with my flat feet...my feet roll in with some of them. This one is particularly good for my feet! It\'s also springy which helps lower my pain, too. \r\n\r\nI tried the Skechers version of this kind of shoe and my feet rolled in terribly in all of them. There\'s no question for me that MBTs are worth the money. I haven\'t worn anything else for 2 years now!

These shoes run small, I wear 9, and I got 9 1/2 an they fit perfect. I can wear an an 8 1/2, but it's tight so order half up from your real shoe size. They're awesome! The first time I wore them to go shopping an I got tired! I felt like I had been on a treadmill! They work somehow, it's really cool and worth the price if you're serious about wearing them. Also, once you put yours pants over them you can't tell how thick the sole is, at least with the black ones.

I purchased a pair of MBT which were too small. I spoke to a representative and she advised me on how to return and get a larger size. Before I even returned the small size, the new ones were at the door. That was amazing.\r\nUnfortunately, I did not get the female\'s name, but she truly was so nice.\r\nIt\'s a great company and if I ever get to Vegas, I\'ll tour the facilites. Thanks to Zappos

Additional Brand Information

MBT shoes are physiological footwear - the first footwear that has a positive effect on the entire body. MBT stands for "Masai Barefoot Technology." MBT sneakers and casual shoes are designed using a multi-layered, curved sole which makes for a unique and rewarding walking experience. Few shoes can keep your muscles engaged in a purposeful way, but this is what MBT has done.

The many benefits of MBT shoes are not only substantiated by numerous scientific studies; they are also being enjoyed on a daily basis by more and more health- and fitness-conscious people who improve their physical fitness by merely wearing this physiological footwear. MBT shoes can activate neglected muscles and tone and shape the entire body.

Doctors and physiotherapists recommend MBTs as an effective therapeutic tool, and top athletes like Benni Raich and Michael von Grünigen use their MBT sneakers as mini training and regeneration centers. Shoes designed by MBT can have a positive impact in improving posture and gait, reducing stress on the knees and hips, and even help with joint, ligament and tendon injuries.

I love these shoes! As I read the reviews, they said order 1/2 larger. I ended up with a full size larger and they fit wonderfully. The first day I wore them walking I could tell the difference in my workout. I have worn them walking every day since I got them and in only 4 short weeks I can tell the difference in the way my clothes fit. I feel like I am getting a much better workout. I recommend these shoes to any walker. They are well worth (and more) what I paid for them.

The size 8 mbt m.walk just fit right. It is when you just wear thin sports socks but the thick sport sock does not work even on a one size bigger. I found that 1/2 size bigger would still too small to those who use to wear size 7. Love the color combination pink and gray. I am excited wearing them. I recently got a sandal also and it was a 71/2 w/c ZAPPOS exchange readily to size 8 w/out problem. Their customer service is awesome! Before i can send back my other sandal the next size sandal is already in my doorstep. I highly recommend this website for all those got addicted to their MBTs. I got 3 of them now. Cannot walk without them. I feet are now MBTize!!!

When I first saw this shoe I was intrigued by the whole concept of MBT walking but also skeptical: yet another fad, I thought. But then a friend told me that she had been wearing her MBT sneaker for over a year now and really loved them! Yes, they are not the dressy kind of shoe, she commented, but wearing MBT shoes helped improve her posture markedly. She said she was going to buy sandals next. So I decided to give them a try. I bought them about a month ago and I love them. A snug fit is important! Aches and pains in hip and leg area are eased when I wear these shoes. I bought the pink ones because they were the cheapest at the time of purchase. Now I'm thinking of getting sandals as well. It's also fun just standing in those shoes since you can rock back and forth and thus work on your posture, your balance, and your muscles all at once. By the way, these shoes were also favorably reviewed in the New York Times. I recommend them.

I love these sneakers. I recently got a 2 year old dog who needs lots of walks. I have a lot of problems with my feet, knees and hips. I have been able to walk up to 3 miles in these shoes. It did take me 10 different pair in 4 different styles to find one that fit correctly. Thanks to Zappos I could keep returning them until I found the right fit. You do need at least 1/2 size larger if not a full size larger.

Love these shoes. I have noticed a difference in only a couple of weeks. I just wish I could wear them a bit more inconspicuously so I could wear them more. They do run small though, so make sure to order the size up! Thanks so much for such a great shoe that really makes a difference in your legs.

I love this shoe! I have the worst problems with my feet and ankles so buying shoes for me is usually a nightmare. The MBTs are not only beyond comfortable, but have transformed my body. Buy a half size larger than usual size.

I was walking with a walker until I bought these shoes. I have very little pain in my legs now and I walk on my own. You have to get used to them. I wear them about 4 hrs a day. I think I am feeling so much better. I can continue working now instead of retiring.

You need to try these on before you buy them, they tend to vary from style to style in fit. I went up a whole size in this particular style. They are great for standing and walking as I do at work. I tried them for walking 3 miles instead of my running/walking shoes and noted that my knees were a little sore from hyperextending, which I'd probably get better at noticing after a while and correct. But I've been wearing them for work for over a year and it's the only shoe I wear now. They keep the pressure off of any one particular part of my foot, and it gives options with the rocker bottom to come to a rest on the ball/toes of my foot, my arch, or my heel. It's such an improvement over always having a fairly flat stance. I also get a lot of attention from wearing them, people always want to know if they 'work'. I only know I have very tired feet and legs when I don't wear them after 8 hours of standing/walking.. and with them I have more endurance. Great work shoe, and even the men at my work wear them now. I also am just a little bit taller in them, which is a plus.

I've had two knee surgeries to reconstruct and repair my right PCL. These shoes are helping to strengthen my hamstring muscles. Takes a bit of getting use to when first wearing the shoes, but I like them.

I bought an MBT sandal earlier this year and fell in love with the way it makes my legs feel when I walk. I wear the sandals for a 2 mile walk every morning. As fall approaches I wanted very badly to have a pair of closed MBT shoes, but my size is ladies' 11 and my foot is narrow. The sandals have velcro straps and can be easily adjusted. Everything I have read indicates that MBT shoes run small and that you should order the next larger size. For me that would be ladies' 12 and Tataga is the only style I could find in size 12. It does not have as thick a sole as my sandals and the M.Walk. So I took a chance and ordered a size 11 M.Walk and am delighted to report that it works for me. I cannot wear heavy socks with the shoes, but the socks I prefer for walking work perfectly. Since Zappos provides free shipping both ways, customers can afford to try different sizes and I knew I could order the size 12 in another style later if I needed to do that. MBT's are wonderful!

Normally wear 9 1/2 and 10, ordered 10 1/2 and they fit perfectly. They make me want to walk more because they are so comfortable and fun, but super ugly! I wouldn't wear them with a normal outfit, but they are great for walking. Haven't decided if they are worth the money yet; I would say most likely.

Buy half a size bigger than you usually wear. My doctor advised me to buy these shoes for a stress fracture in my foot. They improve my posture and my foot feels better when I walk in them. This model is heavy and takes time to adjust to the weight. I plan to buy another pair in the near future but I would try a lighter weight shoe. I am very pleased with Zappos customer service.

These run really small, but once you find your correct size they are a godsend! I had to order 10.5 in these and I wear a 9-9.5 in regular shoes. (I have 9.5 in MBT sport, 10 in MBT Chapa, and 10 in MBT Lami). These really work your legs, especially if you are walking up hill! No more aching feet---MBT's have become my go-to comfort shoe----totally replacing Dansko. I hope they keep improving the styles!
