AWESOME shoes! I read other reviews and followed the advice to order 1/2 size larger and found that to be a perfect fit. Will definitely buy another pair one day.

Have had plantar fasciitis for 4 months. It causes me to hobble in pain every morning. I wore these for about 6 hours at home last night and had no pain this morning. Amazing! I have wide feet. Ordered my size and the heel slipped a lot. Ordered half size down, and the toe box pinched. Took out the insole and they are comfortable; will probably put it back in once they stretch a bit.

Love these shoes! Not as expensive as the athletic style I purchased, and I can stand or walk all day without being uncomfortable. I bought them for comfort, but I get compliments on the style. Once you get used to the MBT feel, it is hard to go back to a basic flat. Great shoes!

First truly comfortable shoes I\'ve worn in years. PN is not a problem in these shoes. All about comfort, not so much pretty. Great go to shoes! Always great with pants and jeans.

The shoes are/were a little tight in the toes, so I took out the insole and wore the shoes for a few weeks without it. Then they were stretched out enough that I was able to put it back in and they no longer squeeze my toes. I didn't buy a bigger size because the heel slipped when I took the insole out. Now the shoes are perfect. They do work out your legs when you walk in them. They are a little funky looking, but kind of cool. My sister has a pair too and we enjoy them. They are a bit more expensive than what I wanted to spend, but all in all good shoes!

Additional Brand Information

MBT shoes are physiological footwear - the first footwear that has a positive effect on the entire body. MBT stands for "Masai Barefoot Technology." MBT sneakers and casual shoes are designed using a multi-layered, curved sole which makes for a unique and rewarding walking experience. Few shoes can keep your muscles engaged in a purposeful way, but this is what MBT has done.

The many benefits of MBT shoes are not only substantiated by numerous scientific studies; they are also being enjoyed on a daily basis by more and more health- and fitness-conscious people who improve their physical fitness by merely wearing this physiological footwear. MBT shoes can activate neglected muscles and tone and shape the entire body.

Doctors and physiotherapists recommend MBTs as an effective therapeutic tool, and top athletes like Benni Raich and Michael von Grünigen use their MBT sneakers as mini training and regeneration centers. Shoes designed by MBT can have a positive impact in improving posture and gait, reducing stress on the knees and hips, and even help with joint, ligament and tendon injuries.

I love these shoes! As soon as I put the shoes on, I knew that I love these shoes! It's a good idea to order half size bigger as it has been suggested by other MBT wearers. I own 4 other pairs of MBT and I never had to order a half size up, but I'm glad I took advice of others.

I love these shoes! They take a day or two to get comfortable walking in them, but after that, no problem. They feel rather like walking on a cushioned support. I can use them on the elliptical and then go out for the day wearing them. There seems to be less fatigue at the end of the day. However, I wish that there were more different styles. Also, they run a bit small. I wear a 9 usually and need a 9.5 in any of the MBTs.

Fantastic shoes! I am a skeptic, when it comes too shoes. A long time in retail teaches you the value of good shoes. When I read all the reviews, I wasn't quite sold on these. I went into The Walking Company store tried them on, walked around, thought they were too expensive, and left. Then I looked them up on Zappos, and I found them for much less than the store price (on sale even). I had originally tried the Tunisha, but the Kaya is actually better looking, and more versatile. I have a corn in formation on my left foot, on my pinky toe, and I was worried that the tight fit would eventually hurt. Well, it does not. After a few weeks of wearing these at work for five days in a row, or even six sometimes, I would say these are the best money I have ever spent on shoes. They have incredible support, cushioned throughout. They do run small though, so try a half a size bigger at least. I guess a full size bigger would look kind of funny. They are also a bit heavy, so I find that at the end of the day my ankles hurt a bit. But I have these on for nine hours straight, and slight ankle pain sure beats back and foot pain. My back feels great now. No pain at all at the end of the day. Thank you MBT. I will buy more of these!

I bought the Lami first and then the Kaya. I love my shoes. I couldn't find a local store to try on the shoes so decided to just order from Zappos and trust the return policy. I guessed that the shoe size should be 1/2 size larger after reading other reviews. The shoes fit perfectly and since I started wearing the Lamis I no longer have a backache! I was surprised when I received the Lamis in just 3 days. I really like Zappos as well; not only is the return policy great, they sent the second pair (Kaya) express (free shipping) and I received them in less than 24 hours! The shoes do rub the heel on both feet, but I wore the Band-Aid Blister product on both heels for a couple of weeks and no longer even feel the rubbing.

I've wanted to try the MBT shoes because I have a peripheral neuropathy and these were recommended by a physician to help mitigate some of those issues. I find them quite comfortable and they do help me walk more comfortably. They aren't attractive; they make my feet look big and they give me a bit of a dumpy appearance, but they are comfortable so in the right situation they are worth the trade-off.

Overall. a very comfortable pair of shoes, give a 'bounce' to my step and helps correct my habit of dragging my feet when I walk. The size does fit small on the Kaya, especially the width and I already ordered a size up. Looks fine overall, but wish it had a cuter and less bulky look.

I had read a lot of reviews about MBTs here on the Zappos site and was especially interested because I’d developed a case of plantar fasciitis that nothing had helped cure. Many of the reviews of MBTs said this shoe would cure this problem for me. Although I was doubtful, I bought this shoe as a desperate last chance move. The MBTs are marvelous. I also have a pair of the Sport models and those are much sturdier than the Kayas. I would recommend those for anyone with a real plantar fasciitis problem. The Kayas are much cuter, but not as sturdy as the Sports. I also purchased a pair of the sandals which I enjoy as well. I consider the MBT a miracle shoe. Within a month’s time, they had cured my plantar fasciitis problem! Nothing else had worked, but this shoe did the trick. I highly recommend them for ANYONE with this foot problem, it’s unbelievable, but the shoes really work. They are hard to get used to at first, but stick with it if you have a sore foot and you’ll find it well worth the effort!

After reading other reviews, I decided to go up a half size, and was happy I did. My kids make fun of these shoes, but I'm very pleased with my purchase. The MBT Kaya certainly puts a bounce in my step. I'm looking forward to walking around Disney in them. And of course you can never go wrong ordering from Zappos. Free delivery. Overnight! I ordered my shoes just before 4 pm and they were on my feet by 2 pm the next day. Thanks Zappos!

These are my favorite new shoes. Order a half size smaller as this shoe runs a little large. The back rubbed against my heel (I forgot to rub that silicone stuff on my heel to prevent blisters) and I got a small blister but now they are broken in and I love them...you get all the benefits of the MBTs plus a little bit of a funky fashion shoe.

These are very comfortable and, a real sales point from where I am, the same size fits the same in all the five different MBT models I now own. As I usually have my shoes picked up and delivered from the US (they cost twice as much over here), uniformity in sizing is critical. I have a knee prosthesis and this is the only comfortable shoe brand I've found with reliable sizing. Recommend it very highly. Only real problem is I don't think the shoes wear as long as they should for what they cost.

Great service. I ordered one day and the shoes were here the next, or maybe the day after, but it was fast delivery and the shoes were exactly what I ordered. Love them. Thanks Zappo's for helping me save money and getting a great pair of shoes! Susie A.

I love my MBT shoes! While it is rather soon to determine if they are helping tone my legs, they are quite comfortable and I feel very energized while wearing them and walking in them.

I'm a nurse who spends long hours on my feet. I've been wearing these shoes for about a month now and my legs no longer ache at the end of the day. I wore them around the house for a week to get used to them, but the shoes themselves required no break in. Of note, they do run a full size smaller. I would highly recommend them.

These shoes are wonderful. I have plantar faciitis, stand on my feet all day, and used to be able to wear tennis shoes with orthotic inserts in them to work. A new position required that I wear regular shoes and it\'s difficult to fit the inserts into various shoe styles. The MBT\'s are comfortable. My feet are not sore and neither is my lower back. I usually wear wide shoes, but these in the regular width feel fine.

Important: buy a half size larger than the sport shoe or other MBTs. Other MBTs I have seem to run true to size this shoe style does not! I wear a 9. Needed a 9.5 in this shoe style. The denim style looks great with jeans! Great for long airport walking! Easy to remove at TSA. I love this brand of shoe, and it's a little club; once you have them you'll start spotting others with them! Fun!
