These shoes became my lifesavers. I developed a heel spur and had excruciating pain when I walked in flats or bare feet and MBTs took the weight off my heel and I can now walk my dogs or stay on my feet for some length of time without pain. I have them in 2 colors and I love them.

I got the brown and burnt orange Ema and love how they look and feel. I think they run true to store-size. I kept the size I first ordered even though they could have been 1/2 size shorter. This is because the straps crossing the foot don\'t adjust, and I was afraid the smaller size might make the straps bothersome. The straps on the Ema Since I have super-sensitive feet, comfort is critical.\r\n\r\nOf the four different styles of MBT sandals I have, for absolute comfort I prefer the Habari because all but one strap naturally adjust to your foot because of the construction. In fact, I was going to order a 2nd pair to stash, but my size is no longer available. A really nice thing about the Ema\'s is that, being dark top and bottom, they won\'t show war for a long time.\r\n\r\nIt appears that MBT is making their sizes more like that of other shoes (I got a pair of running shoes for my husband and found the same.) \r\n\r\nI have found no other shoe that gives me the relief that MBT does, thus I regard it a medical expense. Also, I have never gotten rid of a pair. They just don\'t wear out. \r\n

These shoes are awesome! My first pair of MBT\'s and I\'m looking for another style for winter. Zappos had the best price on this closeout style and the shipping was handled promptly. Thanks Zappos!

I love my Emas. However, I have a high arch. So I took them to my shoe repair man and her put in a new longer elastic that connects the top strap to sides at the cost of $10.00. Made the difference I needed to wear them. I wear them all the time. I am going to get another pair. Already had a pair of MBT tennis shoes that are great, too.

Love these shoes; do not want to wear anything else. This is my first pair of MBTs and I already want more. I feel like I am getting a mini workout all day and am so much more energized at the end of the day. As a teacher I spend all day on my feet and was always in pain at the end of the day. No more.

Additional Brand Information

MBT shoes are physiological footwear - the first footwear that has a positive effect on the entire body. MBT stands for "Masai Barefoot Technology." MBT sneakers and casual shoes are designed using a multi-layered, curved sole which makes for a unique and rewarding walking experience. Few shoes can keep your muscles engaged in a purposeful way, but this is what MBT has done.

The many benefits of MBT shoes are not only substantiated by numerous scientific studies; they are also being enjoyed on a daily basis by more and more health- and fitness-conscious people who improve their physical fitness by merely wearing this physiological footwear. MBT shoes can activate neglected muscles and tone and shape the entire body.

Doctors and physiotherapists recommend MBTs as an effective therapeutic tool, and top athletes like Benni Raich and Michael von Grünigen use their MBT sneakers as mini training and regeneration centers. Shoes designed by MBT can have a positive impact in improving posture and gait, reducing stress on the knees and hips, and even help with joint, ligament and tendon injuries.

I was having problems with my feet and found that I couldn\'t wear anything flat, even cross trainers with orthotics. Since I switched to MBTs, my feet seldom hurt. The Ema is my fourth pair and is by far my favorite. They function as well as the others and are much better looking. As far as fit, I found that I wear the same size as I wear in Nike athletic shoes.

This is my second pair of MBT's and I cannot rave about them enough. After you first get used to them they are the most amazing shoe! Stylish and more dressy than the other pair I have that I wear for everyday. They are just a "regular look sandal." Every time I wear them I get so many compliments and comments about them. I feel I can walk everywhere now. I have been told by the Doctor that I need knee surgery soon, but I am trying to keep up my active life in the meantime and this shoe and my other MBT's help make it possible. Of course Zappos is the greatest. I have since purchased another MBT for winter with the toes enclosed. They seem to run a little small in the toes so if you are ordering an enclosed toe, I would order the size up from your regular shoe size.

I have a large foot (womens 11) and after reading reviews to buy a half size larger I was concerned since they did not come any larger.I originally went with a different MBT style, but they pinched my pinky toes too much. Fortunately, Zappos returned them without hesitation! These fit perfectly except for a little rubbing on my right big toe. I hoped it would stretch out and be fine, but three weeks later it still rubs a little. Not too bad though. I have plantars fasciitis and have heard these help. It has not gone away yet, but I am still hoping. I do have to say that if I know I will be standing or walking for long periods of time, I definitely know I want my MBTs. They are much more comfortable than any other shoes I have...even better than my orthotics I ordered.

Nice idea, not for me - When these were on sale I took the plunge... but am returning them because the hype just doesn't live up to the reality. The sole is nice and soft, but there is so little arch support (I have high arches) that I ended up having my feet roll in as I walked. After about 15 minutes inside, I could feel the strain on my ankles and decided they were too expensive to keep and see whether I could break them in. Nice idea as I like to walk barefoot, and this design looks good enough to wear for work... too bad they just don't work for me.

I bought these for a 3 week tour of Italy. I work the Ema sandals almost daily. They are very comfortable, even when it was nearing 95 degrees (F). They are less heavy than my MBT walking shoes which was nice for travel. \r\nI have a lot of lower back pain due to a sway back (really bad posture) and MBT\'s seem to be the only shoes that let me keep on walking. They seem to run about 1/2 size small. I\'m really glad that I went with the next size up. They\'re a little on the wide side, but, that worked out ok in the hot summer sun. Worth the price!\r\n

I love my MBTs and LOVE Zappos for their excellent customer service and super fast shipping. This is my 11th pair of MBTs and the first style that is actually pretty enough to wear with business clothes at the office without feeling weird due to the look. I\'ve been waiting a long time for MBT to design some shoes that were pretty. My orthopedic surgeon recommended MBTs and I\'ve never gone back to regular shoes. My knee pain is gone! I had to wear regular shoes one day recently for a job interview (because the MBTs looked way to weird to wear with an interview suit) and my knees were killing me by 10am that day. That experience proved to me tht the MBTs really are making a big difference in my pain level.

Love the shoes! Have three pair now and love these the best. Great for painful knees (eliminated the pain completely). I took these out of the box and have worn them all day since. I did have to get a size smaller than the MBT Mary Janes I have. I even have my mother hooked on them, she has back pain and has replaced both of her knees. She has three different ones than I do.

Shoe Size: Felt a half size smaller than marked Shoe Arch: Excellent arch support Shoe Width: Felt true to width
Very Supportive - I didn't want to pay the price for MBT's, and I have always thought they were not very attractive. And then they came out with the Ema, in the multi-brown. I tried on a pair, and told my husband I wanted them, but in order to afford them I had to make another sacrifice. I promised myself to stop buying jewelry from two popular television shows. This means a lot to me because I had to put some jewelry that had just come that day, back in the mailbox and return to sender. I am so glad I did this. I have the most terrible time finding shoes with good arch support, and shoes with sturdy soles. I love the fact that MBT made an attractive shoe.

Cute, but uncomfortable - These are really great looking shoes, especially for MBT. But they are not comfortable at all. The shoe makes me walk on the inside of my foot. The toe strap rubs my toe, though when I loosened the back strap that became bearable. Anyway, I returned them.

These shoes are dangerous! I was wearing them today and I almost broke my ankle in them. There is not enough support so your foot wants to go inwards and in my case my right foot went outwards, suddenly, and I almost fell. I have the Kisumu and I did not have a problem with them they had much more support...

I really liked the look of these sandals. I wish the strap on the top of the foot was adjustable. I have a narrow foot so just adjusting in the back doesn't work. I will have to return. I hope MBT will look at them and see if they can make the top adjustable. The other sandals are soo clunky looking-especially on a narrow foot. Otherwise, love the MBT-they are very comfortable and great for running around at work.

I checked out every site I could to find these shoes at the best price. Your price came in as one of the lowest. Having had success with your company on a previous order and liking your terms I decided to use you again and I'm extremely happy I did. You have a great selection, fair prices, and speedy delivery. These shoes are amazing! My legs get a nice work out. I wear them as much as I can and get lots of compliments on the style. That's not easy to do when you have big feet! Be sure to order them as suggested a little larger. I tell you this from experience. My sister now owns my first MBTs. Thank you!

I received my black Ema's a couple of days ago (thanks Zappos for the super-fast shipping) and am wearing them to work for the first time today. I was worried about trying these but I'm really glad I did. I wear a 37 in the MBT Sport shoes and the 37 Ema's fit perfectly. The front toe strap is a little tight on my big toe, but I will work that out...MBT's require some effort, that's what they're about, and these are no different. I notice the turning in quite a bit when I first tried them on but halfway through my first day in them it's undetectable--I'm just having to work it a little bit to walk in them and that is the plan after all. I love them and if the brown color didn't have that white insole I'd get those too. By far the cutest MBT I've seen.

This is not a bad looking shoe for an MBT. It definitely runs a bit small so order 1/2 size up. I have another pair of closed MBTs and I have to say those are more comfortable, but these are pretty good. I am very happy with the purchase.

I love the look of these shoes, but they were not a good fit for me. I have a narrow foot and because there is no adjustment for the strap, they were too loose to wear. I have to return them. If you have a high arch or wider fit, these are very nice looking shoes with all the MVT benefits.
