Shoe is a good looking shoe but I have a wide foot and with most shoes I order either a size or a half size up to compensate for the width. And it works in most cases, but not on this shoe.

Walking in the Ajabu feels mushier than my favorite MBTs, the Bias and Tembeas. This may be partly due to a softer insole. Fits my wide, high-arched feet well. I ended up returning these partially because the style was not quite right for me -- too much visible stitching and laces. Mainly I returned them because I prefer the firmer feel of the Bia and Tembea. There is no arch support in any MBTs, but if you read the company's website you learn that this is intentional. I had severe plantar fascitis for three years before getting MBTs. At first I tried using orthotics in them, but that felt awful and actually defeats the purpose of the shoe. Once I took the orthotics out and went back to the MBT insoles, softened slightly with some cheap over-the-counter foam insoles, my plantar fascitis cleared up in a month, and it has been gone for 2½ years.

These shoes may have saved my life and my working career. They change the strike point of my heel and thus reduce plantar fasciitis and heel spur pain. When you try your first pair of rocker soles, you will most likely use muscles you are not used to, and you will feel the burn. On the dislike side of the coin, is the confining design in the area of the Achilles tendon and they do put pressure on that tendon. That is the reason for the four star review. I also wish MBT would make a 4E width; these are not, so be prepared to buy longer length to get the width you may need.
