Loved these pants, great material, nice looking but run way small. Size 2 in these tight, size 2 in Merrell pants huge, North Face huge. What is up with women's sizing? Too bad, these would be great if you are a teenager.

I love the material and color of these pants. The material is stretchy and, I'd imagine, would dry very quickly. The color is a nice navy, almost with a hint of grey in it. I think the sizing runs a bit small in these pants, especially in the thigh area. I usually wear a 6 in hiking pants (sometimes a 4) and have large butt & thighs but a thin waist. I went for an 8 in these. The thighs and butt fit perfectly, but the waist is huge. It's a bummer there is no belt or waist cinch, though there is so much excess room that I'm not sure even a belt would help. I think these pants are good for those who hold more of their weight in their waist than in their thighs/butt.

Sexiest looking convertible pant, a little tight in the thigh but the pants are stretchy and I'm keeping this size since the next up is not available. The granite is a really nice color and my fiance really likes these on me...good thing because I will be wearing them on my honeymoon hiking.

Size 2 seemed two sizes smaller than, say, the Mountain Hardwear Sajama pant size 2 (which fits me perfectly, which is to say snugly but not offensively tight). I couldn't get the Lobo waist closed; the button and button-hole were about a couple inches apart. If I were to try again, I'd try a 6 or an 8. Can't remember exactly, but the 34" inseam didn't seem quite that long on the size 2.

I liked the pants a lot. Great style, fabric and feel. I have to agree with other reviewers and say that they run very small. I wear a 4 in Arteryx, Patagonia but even the 6 was too small in this pant. Have to try an 8!
Brands I'd also recommend: arcteryx, patagonia

About Marmot
Marmot clothing and equipment began in April 1971, when two University of California Santa Cruz students Eric Reynolds and Dave Huntley were in the Juneau Icefields of Alaska on a school project in Glaciology. While atop those glaciers, it was there amongst the students that the concept of a Marmot club was born. In order to become a Marmot, they had to climb a glacieted peak with another Marmot. In addition, everyone was president.
During that summer and up until 1973, Eric and Dave began making prototypes of down clothing in their dorm room. In addition to Eric and Dave, their friend Tom Boyce joined their ranks and opened a rental/retail shop under the name Marmot Mountain Works. Here is where the Marmot company was brought to life in the summer of 1974.
Marmot incorporates quality Gore-Tex® in their products, maintaining the highest quality performance product. As a company, they actually remain to be the oldest customers of Gore-Tex® in the world outdoor market. Marmot endeavors to provide outdoor gear that is authentic, innovative and best in class. These pants are awesome! Super comfy and the convertible part is a must if hiking. They are water repellent and breathable. I just wore these for 4 days out in the Smokies during a 50 mile hike and I was quite pleased with them. Thanks, Marmot, for making another stellar product!

I have a 28" waist and 39" hips; the size 8 fit well at the waist, but was snug at the hips. Not uncomfortable, but made me self-conscious. I seriously considered exchanging for the size 10, but after walking around the room for a few minutes realized that the zippers to convert to shorts were rubbing against my calves with each step. That would really get on my nerves, and might cause some chafing on sensitive skin. Too bad, because the rest of the pants felt great on. The material is stretchy all over except the waist band is lined with a non-stretchy micro-fleece-like material, which is nice - typically with jeans that have lycra mixed in I need a belt by the end of the day; I think this waist band would prevent that.

Lesson Learned! I read the reviews discussing how tight-fitting these pants are and i ordered 2 sizes up. MISTAKE! I am returning for a size smaller so order up only 1 size. Also, I could probably take my actual size if i didnt need hiking pants that can go on top of long underwear for a cold-weather trek. I think it's safe to say that of you fall in the 0-10 spectrum of sizing, these pants are not ridiculously small as other reviewers state. they are cute/sit low on the waste are and not the horrid sinched waste hiking pants north face sells.
