Named after a Himalaya mountain in Nepal, I figure the quality will match. I'll have to wait for winter to find out. It's a simple lightweight jacket, with a 21" length for an 8 year old. My son doesn't like long jackets. It takes too much effort to zip up. The picture at the actual company's website is more accurate than the one shown here at Zappos. My son is not excited with this jacket. It's blaa... he preferred one of the Spyder jackets with webs and multiple color designs. But I figure the "excitement" will fade regardless of which jacket he gets. Should I send it back for a more stylish coat? This is what I'm debating. If it keeps one warm enough to climb mountains for this price, I think it's a steal. Besides next year I'll have to get another jacket.

This jacket is super cute. But if you're looking for a really warm jacket, this is not for you. It looks really warm and says it's lined with Goose down insulation, but that is misleading. It was a lot of money to realize I now have to buy my son an entire different coat. It wasn't even a very cold day when he wore it.
