Manduka® is a company founded on the simple idea that a better yoga mat can make a world of difference - literally! About a decade ago, Peter Sterios, an architect turned yogi, discovered a simple, elegantly-designed black mat whose unique combination of firm grip and complete support revolutionized his yoga practice. In honor of the yoga masters who inspired him, he sought to share this amazing product with others. And in the great yoga tradition, these yoga teachers then shared their mats with their students, and a true yoga company was born. Now, the joy of Manduka® is spoken in more than 35 countries worldwide.

Manduka® mats and yoga accessories are still unrivaled in the marketplace. By using simple, enduring, natural - and whenever possible - renewable materials along with a fine attention to detail, Manduka is committed to "being green." They are working hard to be eco-friendly and eco-conscious when it comes to manufacturing their products. So much so that many of their products have been Oeko-Tex certified. This means from the zippers to the mat scrims and packaging are made with recyclable materials. The emission-free PVC yoga mats are made of biodegradable rubber. Manduka also uses natural, unbleached cotton in their bags and straps with sustainable cork for blocks.
