Mad Rock Reviews
I went from wearing a 10.5 in Mad Rock Flashes to a 10 in these. They are starting to get a little bigger as they get worn in but with the aggressive downturn and the rubber over mold on the toe, I wish I had a 10.5. Either way the rubber on mad rock shoes is awesome and these are the shit for any kind of overhang climbing.
Overall, I like these shoes a lot. They provide good structure, good support, and good grip once they are broken in. My foot is skinny, so the straps do not offer enough tighten-down ability. Also, the straps kind of run long off the side and get in the way when using the outside of the foot.
Great edging! These are great shoes for vertical and overhung climbing. The toe really hooks onto to the rock relieving the core from a little bit of work. They feel amazing after they a broken in. A bit stiff when I wore it for the first two days.
For the intermediate and advanced climbers, this shoe will give you the edge you need. It has a very painful break in process because it is super stiff, but once it is broken in it is quite comfortable and it does damage to your climbing projects. The toe on the demon can pull on any type of foothold. Seriously, any type of foothold. The heel is specialized. It proves strongly on edges and spikes. The rough ridges provide great hooking and friction. I know Mad Rock isn't making these anymore, so pray they still have some in your size! I bought as many size 7's as I could!
