Macbeth Vegan. In addition to Macbeth´s music-inspired products, Macbeth is also known for its support of the vegan community. From its inception, Macbeth took inspiration from its family of vegan artists like Bane, Alkaline Trio, American Nightmare, H20, and Sick Of It All and created modern sneakers that contain only vegan materials. Many of these bands were strict advocates for straight edge ideals, which often involved the elimination of using or consuming animal products of any kind. In natural succession, Macbeth's first ever shoe, the Eliot, launched in November of 2002 as a Vegan design. Macbeth continues to produce creative vegan footwear, and in 2007 Macbeth won "Best Vegan Skate Shoe" from Peta.

This is my second time purchasing this shoe by Macbeth. If you're looking for the simple style of an understated "Chuck" by Converse but can't stand the months of breaking it in, this is the shoe for you. The sole has a moderate arch for those who aren't flat footed, so comfort is immediate. The lining is thicker than that of a Chuck or even the Macbeth Elliots, so your feet wont freeze in the cold. I usually wear a 10 in other shoes, but for Macbeth its usually a 9.5, so they run a little big. My older shoes I'm replacing have stayed together very well, the inner lining in the heel was the first to wear out, but the shoe is still comfortable and the outer lining is dirty, but perfect condition. All in all, my go to shoe, highly recommended.

They were OK, but I thought they would be way better. They felt very narrow and they were extremely stiff. The heels would rub on the back to where I couldn't wear them after 10 minutes. Nice look, but terrible feel.

A very unfortunate purchase from another site, but I figured people here should know also. I love the look of these shoes, but after about an hour of decent wear, my heel started to be rubbed raw from the back of the shoe. Not only did it make an awful squeaking sound, but it was starting to blister my foot. Also, the shoes tended to rip when pulling them on. Don't bother with em. These have made their way to the garbage, and while I'm a supporter of the Eliot, I would stay very far away from the Matthew.

The positives for me are the style and the price. On the other hand, though, mine broke down pretty quickly (2-3 months) around the heel - the canvas beginning to tear off. The material behind the heel wastes away while you're breaking in the shoe, so the back of the shoe digs in to the skin for a little while. And the shoe does not allow your foot to breathe very well. I like them but wish they were a little higher quality to address those issues. Good thing they're cheap so you can buy another pair after a few months.

This is the 8th pair of Macbeths and 6th pair of Elliot vegan's I have ordered. I love them...Best shoe I've ever worn and at 50 bucks it is a no brainer. Just do it, with Macbeth of course.

I've had trouble finding shoes throughout my life for I have flat feet. This shoe is different: simple in design, it fits great and offers me great arch support. It's a great casual wear shoe and I highly recommend it.
