The Lucchese story starts in 1880 when Sam Lucchese Sr. and his brothers came to America. He was just 17 years old at the time, but Lucchese knew he wanted to be a boot maker. Just three years later, the Lucchese Boot Company was born in San Antonio, Texas. In 1960 the founder´s grandson and namesake took over the family business and decided to rethink the art of boot making. Sam Lucchese Jr.´s fascination and understanding of the human foot inspired him to create a boot design that fit like no other. Although Lucchese´s one-of-a-kind boot's last design required more skill and time, the result was a boot that quickly gained national recognition for its extraordinary comfort, quality and fit.

No other boot fits the human foot like a Lucchese boot, thanks to Lucchese's original design and meticulous construction. From the exclusive "twisted cone last" design and the careful selection and cutting of the finest grade of leather, to the hand-drive lemon wood pegs and meticulous finishing of a boot. Each step is considered critical to the finished product. The boot designs may demand more money, time and skill, but when you slip your foot into a Lucchese boot, you'll know why we insist on only the finest.

Every Lucchese boot is hand inspected twice. In virtually every procedure during the production on a Lucchese boot, human hands are relied upon to complete the task to near-perfection. Every inch of a Lucchese boot is made of the finest grade of leathers. Slip your foot into a Lucchese and experience comfort you never thought possible.

I originally bought this boot in my true size, 6.5 B. My feet were swimming in it and was actually able to kick it right off my foot! It wasn't due to the fit of the foot, but actually the in-step being too high. I have low arches, so I think this was the major factor in play here. I sent them back and exchanged for a 6.0 B. The fit is much better and I can walk around more comfortably without feeling like the boot is slipping off, though it still doesn't hug my in-step as nicely as other Luccheses have (that I've tried on in-store). The other thing that is missing when putting my foot into the boot is that "plop" when the heel goes in, again, I'm guess it's due to the large in-step. I'm still planning to buy some inserts to help bridge the gap, on top of needing some arch support.

I'd also recommend: Corral, Old Gringo

These fit more narrow and slightly bigger than my other Luccheses (4 pairs). I think the fit differs because of the higher heel. I normally wear a 6 in Lucchese. This is what I ordered and it does fit, but I may have been able to go down 1/2 a size (it also may have been too short because of the more narrow width). I don't wear heels in my daily life, thus why I love boots. The 2.5" heel feels like wearing the most comfortable sneakers. In a good fitting pair of boots, running isn't a problem, in these I could. The toe is more pointed and slightly curved up than my other boots. It isn't extreme like with some Old Gringos. These are red with a hint of brown and the embroidery is different and classy without screaming look at me...though people will. I missed they were made in Mexico. The 1883 Collection use to all be made in Texas...I actually thought about returning them based on this.

I'd also recommend: Justin, Old Gringo, Frye

Beautiful boots. I have a narrow foot and these were too large. I ordered 1/2 size down and they are perfect.

Very pretty boot! The picture does not do it any justice and the leather is super soft. Also if you have larger calves it will be able to fit on without stretching the boot.

These boots are beautiful, the pictures do not showcase the colors. I am very pleased with the height, fit and materials. Very well made, worth the cost. Thank you Zappos for a great shopping experience!
