Excellent Hiking Boot for hard to fit feet - I tried about 14 pairs of hiking boots before I settled on these. I have a very hard to fit foot. It's wide, and even some wide widths aren't quite enough. I was a little hesitant at first to keep these because I didn't feel they were as comfortable as I wanted, however, after about a 1 week break-in period I am sooooooo glad I kept them. They turned out to be the "best" hiking boot I've ever bought. (I did have to put a "ball of the foot" gel insert in but that's just because of my foot problems.) I was just going to use these on hikes where it wasn't rocky but I love these boots so much I use these on all our hikes now. They give excellent support. I am in the process of ordering another pair, that's how good they are. I would recommend these to everyone especially those with a wide foot. Simply the best hiking boot I've ever found and I've been looking a very long time (I'm 48).
Brands I'd also recommend: Lowa, Vasquez, Timberland, Keen

Great boot - The Zephyr is all that it advertised. Lightweight, supportive, great traction. They are a full pound lighter than my Scarpa ZG's [pair]. There is a small trade off for the lighter Zephyr as the mid-sole of the Scarpa is a bit more protective of sharp rocks. But unless you are carrying a big load of over 25-30 pounds, it won't be an issue.

Great boots. No break in needed. Went out on a two week hunt trip and they held up very well. Be advised they are very true to size. Great arch support and are very light. These boots are waterproof. Buyers will love this boot.

I am a woman with big feet. I love Lowa hiking boots because they are a bit narrower than the typical male hiking boots.\r\n\r\nThe Zephyr is great! I wanted a lightweight boot for a 10 day day-hiking road trip. Wore them once for about a 3 mile walk before we left, and they were wonderful. No break in time, great ankle support.

At first I didn't really like the styling, but after having them for a month or so they are very functional and look good. They are a great light hiker and are extremely light, have good ankle support and a sole thick enough so rocks and things aren't felt through to your foot. Width is good, I've found most light hikers I've had, Vasque, Danner have been a little too narrow. My foot is wide, but not really thick and these fit well. I wear them every day and am very pleased with the purchase.

Size 11 women's foot, great fit! I just bought these to prepare for a 7 day hike this summer. I normally wear a woman's 11.5 running shoe and knew that it would probably be a challenge to find a 11.5 womans hiking boot. These men's Lowa Zephyr GTX Mid are a great fit for women who may be looking for larger size but unable to find it in womens boot, not too wide at all. I bought a mens 10.5. Great fit, comfy & light with good structure and support.

The Lowa GTX hiking low cut boot are the best hiking or assaulter boots I have ever used. They blow Merrels and Oakleys out of the competition. They are comfortable, fast to put on, and extremely durable. These are the first shoes I have ever had that make me want to walk. Although a Gortex boot can be used year round as they are not too hot.
Brands I'd also recommend: Merrells, Oakelys

Wow! what a great shoe for working oversea's in Af. It will keep your feet dry and cool in the summer and warm in the winter. Made like a Mwrap! Holds up under extended use and great walking on rocks, sand and dirt all day long.....tried a lot of other brands and you can forget the rest and go with the best. LOWA.....STAY US STRONG!

Excellent boot with more ankle support than others in its class. I have very skinny ankles and could not lace other brands (especially Merrell, which I love otherwise) tight enough. The Zephyr has three cleats so I got a perfect, customizable fit. \r\n\r\nJust wore these on a trip to Machu Picchu and Peruvian jungle. They held up great and performed well with excellent grip on both wet and dry surfaces. Did not face much standing water, but it seemed like the waterproofing held up well. They were somewhat warm, but probably no more than any waterproof alternative.
Brands I'd also recommend: Merrell

These are definitely 100% one 1/2 size too small, and they run very narrow with zero toe wiggle room. I wear a size 12 with a 4.2" width to my feet (i.e. D). Aside from all this, they are way stiff and would take quite a few hikes to break in if they broke in at all. The fit in general is very strange. All this surprised me as the other reviews were very positive. To each their own I suppose. Grateful to Zappos for their continued excellent service.

I've owned lots of hiking boots... Asolo, Merrell, Keen, and these are without question the most comfortable boot I've ever worn. They required very little break-in and were true to size. I couldn't list a single complaint about them. As usual great Zappos service to boot!

Bravo Zappos, I ordered 3 different brands of similar boots before enjoying these Lowas, Zappos friendly and easy return policy and procedure will keep me buying from them. Danner has been my go to brand for more than 40 years but the Zephr came closest to offering all of the features I was looking for this time around. I continue to were Danners for cold weather hunting, and such, but these Lowa boots I wear every day and they meet 95% of what I was looking for; the speed-lacing hooks are a must- have feature for me which makes taking them off and putting them back on again (as I frequently come in my house and go back out) easy, quick and thoughtless. Now, if someone would only make 3/4 length wool socks to go with the many boots of this height I would be buying a bunch of them and stop rolling the crew my length socks down to avoid the dork look when wearing shorts (everyday practically). Thanks for listening Zappos. Cheers!

Awesome boots! They just fit perfect, very comfortable, always dry. I felt I was born with them. I used them on my trips in Utah in April, in hot days, rainy days and even snow. They performed just great! I love them.

Fine boots. No hot spots or rough rubbing spots that I could find. For full disclosure I wore the boots during a joint training exercise with CONUS troops during Army Warrior Tasks Training and was in them for extended periods of time. boots do run a half size small.

Very comfortable, well made boot. I needed a full size larger than I normally wear. The only thing that makes me hesitate to purchase another pair is that the tread picks up gravel a debris. In the beginning I was constantly cleaning the tread.
