Very pleased with this boot. The fit is real spot on. So far the waterproofing is working well. There're light weight, the sole is somewhat slippery when damp. Overall I'm satisfied.

I love these boots. They fit like they were made for me. They are very comfortable. I wish I had discovered Lowa earlier in life, but am glad I finally did. Thank you Zappos for carrying quality products like this and for being such a great company to do business with.

As with all the hiking boots I have tried these are still too narrow and I have tried everything from men's to women's. I am not sure what companies think are wide shoes. I am keeping them because they are the best of all the ones I have tried including those made by Keen, Vasque, and Salomon. There is no arch support and I needed to add an arch support and heel cup (too wide in the heel) in order for them to be somewhat comfortable. I hike 4-6 hours, 2-3000 ft elevation gain/loss.

I cannot say I love these yet. They are quite stiff right out of the box. They are very well made - very sturdy. They feel solid, but I do need softer inserts. The rise sits right on my ankle bone and I got some good chaffing (as I wore them for about 5 hours in the woods up and down uneven hillsides). I am hoping this will only be a 'break in' adjustment. Too soon to give them high marks.

Comfortable, stylish, sturdy, great support and excellent quality. True to size with enough room if you are wearing thick socks.

Really disappointed with these boots. They don't offer great support and the base has my foot tilting in towards the inside which I have never found before. I love Lowa shoes but these are not up to par.

This is a very good boot. Light, well made and designed to be comfortable. Issues identified is that the medium width (non-wide size) is too narrow. The toecap is very low, so for those who have hammertoes or similarly shaped toes, it will be uncomfortable.

As one might notice from the photo, these boots are for rugged trails, and maybe for backpacking, rather heavy duty. Too wide for my narrow feet and a wide heel bed, cause my heel to slip. They are made very well.

Lowa is the first boot that is actually has narrows. If I were on a backpacking hike, these boots would be prefect, but for day hikes they are just too much of a heavy duty boot. They are made very well and hopefully there is a lot cut trail shoe that is cut narrow. I run in a New Balance 9½, and that is what I ordered, but slightly wide in the heel, but I have very thin and narrow heels.

The style of the shoe reminds me of something your doctor would require you to wear rather than something you would want to wear. The fit was fine but it was not particularly comfortable. I also wonder how the exterior would look after some muddy hikes. I am returning them.

I love these boots. This is my 3rd pair of this exact Lowa boot. As we age (I'm 79), our feet change. I wore the first pair out, and though the 2nd pair is still in really, really good condition, I had to buy new as my feet have changed just enough to make them not as comfortable as I like when taking long hikes. The only minus, is that they pick up rocks, but that's no big deal. I also bought the Sole Softec Ultra for more support, balance, and a firmer fit. As I said...I'm 79, so I probably won't need to buy another pair.

Perfect in many ways. Here's why: - Not that heavy (not that light, either, but I don't feel like I'm dragging big cement blocks). - Wide enough, and very comfortable. See size note below - Good laces that "stick" and won't come undone. Regarding size, I measure out at a 10.5 Wide. Based on the other reviews here, I ordered an 11.5 Wide (I would normally get a boot in 11 Wide, but the reviews said go half a step larger, so I went to 11.5) I'm very glad I did. With thick socks, I think I could have gone to a 12, but the 11.5 is about the same length as my other 10.5 and 11 shoes/boots. The toe area is a little cramped, but not in width, more in height if that makes sense, and I thought it would bother me but it doesn't at all. First time I wore them I hiked 8 miles and my feet felt the best they ever did in any boot or sneaker. I did add an insole, though, so that probably helped - highly recommend the super-soft SoftSole brand if you like cushy insoles.

Very comfortable and lightweight. Serve the purpose that I bought these for. As nitpick, I wish they made them in wider sizes also.

Excellent boots. I've only gone hiking with them once, but I walked six miles and the boots were comfortable and kept my ankle stable. I normally take an extra wide, but these only had a wide option. They're a bit snug at the widest part of my foot. I'm sure the leather will stretch a bit and in the meantime, they were comfortable loosely tied.

Bought the 14 wide for my husband who often wears a 14 or 15. The shoes were quite small and too narrow, very strange.

I live in a rural community and there are hilly slopes with rugged terrain and there is one glaring negative with these boots. I've had them for over a year and I have avoided turning my ankle over in them to the point of a sprain but that's because I know they lack lateral stability and the confidence isn't there, so I watch it. If I didn't these boots would have totally failed me by now. The design with the cloth lacing woven into the boot along with the fact that the sides just allow too much lateral movement to be stable. I could see a military application in a desert setting but for work or even hiking in uneven terrain steer clear of these boots. Without an insole they aren't even wearable. I bought a montrail heat molded insole but even with that the boot just seems too malleable and just not stable enough to avoid ankle turns and mishaps. I waited for a long time before writing this as I paid a good price for them and I didn't want to be hasty in my criticism. Enough time has elapsed and the problem is just an inherent design flaw and that if you're going to be walking or working in either wooded areas or any place that demands side to side stability and rock solid support you wont find that with these boots.

Very nice boot. Nice eyelet hardware. The toe box is a little wider than the Scarpa. The heel box is a little tighter than the Scarpa.

The Lowa Zephr TF is an awesome boot. It strikes a good balance between the comfort of a trail runner, and the stability of an off-trail hiking boot. I have been hiking/running with 15-30 lb loads and they have performed well. I had previously worn two pair of the regular Zephrs, which are good, but the TF model has an extra nylon stiffener plate, which makes a big difference when carrying loads. The surprising thing is that you can also run in them, with pretty much the same comfort and support of most typical running shoes, yet they have the extra support for carrying loads when required. TF Zephrs are rapidly becoming my go-to footwear.

I am a huge fan of Lowa Renegade, have the hiking boot as well as the shoe, but this version of the shoe is not as good as the other shoe that laces more like the hiking boot. This version of lacing and the cut of the shoe provide less support from the sides which is what I'm after. I'm on my second round of the other hiking shoe, but will not get this one again. And by the time I figured it out, they couldn't be returned since they'd been outdoors. Frustrating considering the cost. Also not great grip on slippery surface which I really hope they improve.

I love this boot! I have a narrow foot and this one holds on and is much appreciated. I replaced the insole with my orthotics and they work beautifully. No blisters so far even on wet hikes. My one and only complaint is that their grip-ness on slippery surface is not great and I'd love for them to correct this. The fit is so good that I put up with it, but would really like to see improvement.

I thought they are going to be too narrow when I first tried them on, but they broke in immediately. They are so comfortable and they keep my feet warm and dry.
