Lowa Reviews
I bought these elsewhere because Zappos only carries the brown - Zappos, please carry the other colors! This is a fantastic all around walking shoe!
Shopping at Zappos was fast, easy, shoes arrived very quickly. My second pair. Lowa makes a rare item, thoughtfully engineered and carefully made of superior materials. My wife, famous for taking the fam on death marches, swears they are the most comfortable boots she’s ever worn. And they last for years.

The LOWA Focus is a great shoe. I do a lot of walking and hiking. It holds up well, but wears down quickly if on asphalt only.
Really wanted to like these, they look great and appear comfy but not. I have been purchasing Merrell Chameleon's for years and was looking for something in black when I stumbled on this Brand Lowa on the Zappos site under "new arrivals." I was really excited to get them as they appeared to be exactly what I was looking for. I ordered a Pair of both the new Renegade GTX and the new Chameleon5. First thing I noticed was the Lowa box was thrashed. The Lowa have very soft uppers and a cool lining and are pretty light for the size, but the sole is hard and feels like a $60.00-$80.00 discount/bargain price boot. I have tried different style socks with no luck. I am going to keep them but after several weeks of wear I can already tell they will find their way to the back of my closet from lack of use. As of right now they hurt to walk in for any distance. The Merrell were top notch and feel like butter on my feet.
EXCELLENT boot! I wore them on a 5-hour hike the first day I got them and they were extremely comfortable. No need to break these in. I'm crazy picky about comfortable shoes and have worn these in from 20 degrees in the snow to 95 degree Alabama heat. Well worth the price.
Excellent shoes but I bought size 11 in brown and fit perfectly. Bought same size for black and slightly too big. Good luck!
I found these shoes to run narrow. They feel like a heavy duty piece of equipment. Heavy but not unreasonably so. Built like a tank. Too bad they don't fit me.
I have worn Lowa shoes before and was encouraged to try these because they were on sale. I'm delighted with them. The firm sole and comfortable fit suit my feet just fine.
Not quite right fit for the wide width version... The wide width might work for a C/borderline D width foot. I found the toe box to be roomy and high, but sort of oddly shaped with a slope downwards towards the outside of the foot. The laces were also very hard to tighten, especially around the ankle, it's like the tongue is too stiff. This might change with time but was a deal-breaker for me because I could not adjust the shoe to fit properly.
I bought a pair of the GTX six months ago and they are falling apart at the seams. I thought that I would get a better product for the money. But I will give them another chance because there is a bad apple in every bunch. Stay tuned and I will let you know how the next pair works out.
Other reviews are accurate regarding the stiffness of these shoes. Still breaking them in after nearly daily wear for a month. They slip when wet on indoor metal like door thresholds but not on laminate or tile. They do provide me with dry and reliable light snow/ice/mud footing which is what I bought them for, spring outdoor walking in New Hampshire.
We took a trip to the Grand Canyon in February so bought these for my kids and myself. (boy age 12, girls 15 and 18). All the reviews are right on! Lightweight, almost no break in period, grippy, stable, comfortable, warm but not too warm. At first my girls did not like them for a variety of reasons but by the end of a week living in them they didn't want to take them off.
I had sore feet all the time until I bought these shoes. They were twice a much money as I usually spend on shoes and worth every penny. I saved money by not constantly buying cheap shoes. I have worn them almost every day for over two years. Going to buy a new pair now.
For people like me who have a narrow foot, finding shoes that fit can be very frustrating. As usual, Zappos was able to help. This Lowa boot is available in many outdoor shops, but I could not find it in narrow until I tried Zappos. They were delivered in just a few days and are easily the most comfortable hiking, walking and motorcycling boots I have ever worn. The fit, quality of materials, and construction are outstanding. Well worth the cost for a quality product.
I've had these boots for about a month now, after having returned about four other pairs back to Zappos. I wear them for about 12 hours a day in a lab, mainly because the commute is often wet and cold these days. The boots serve well for cold weather to a point, but not below about 20 degrees F. However, since the boots aren't billed anywhere as being warm, I can't ding them for this. Thus far, they are completely waterproof, as described.
Pinched in the left toe, even with a wide. I don't have very wide feet, just a tad too much for certain shoes.
Ordered these in a US 10.5 length was fine but beware the toe box is a cramped. I had to send mine back. oh well, great looking shoe otherwise.
First bought a pair for my daughter then, after wearing hers, had to have a pair for myself. Lightweight, comfortable, perfect for hiking (in the city or country). LOVE them.
Just finished hiking the "W" circuit in Torres Del Paine (Patagonia) in these boots. I didn't have any time to "break them in" prior to the hike but they performed great. No blisters despite some pretty steep terrain. Only got a few hot spots on big toes. Feet never got wet. All in all these are great boots.
This boot is so comfortable that you could use it as a running shoe if you choose. Everything about it is top quality. I used it daily on a 15 day trip to Costa Rica in wet and dry terrain. They are the best boot I have owned.
