I just got back from a trip to the UK with my new Lipault luggage. I really like this case. It's not too big and not too small for checked luggage. Fully packed it easily remained under the 50 lb. airline limit. It is my first 4-wheeled case. If I had known what a difference 4 wheels would make to the ease of maneuvering through the airport, I would have bought one before now! I did buy a luggage sleeve to protect it though. It's such a beautiful case I didn't want it to get battered on the luggage conveyor belt. It worked because the case still looks brand new.

Was very excited to use this soft-sided luggage as I found the style to be very nice when I purchased it. But on my 2 week travels to Asia, I found the luggage to be a big disappointment. I only had 1/2 the luggage full of clothes and the luggage was very heavy. When trying to roll it; it kept toppling over forward and it was not easy to roll with four wheels or pull. I ended up with a pulled muscle on my upper back. Eeekkks! Would not recommend this size if you are planning to be very mobile in your travelings.

I love this case! I wanted a case that was lighter weight but that would be large enough to hold a week's worth of hiking clothes as well as nicer attire for sightseeing and dinner. The case also needed to hold all my hiking gear, including my backpack, hiking boots, hiking stick, water bottles, etc. The Lipault Plume case filled the bill! It's amazingly light and even with all my stuff, the case weighed less than 30 pounds and had room left over. By contrast, the case the Lipault Plume replaced would have weighed at least 45 pounds with the same contents. And with its spinner wheels, the Lipault is so easy to maneuver, and it always stood upright and never collapsed even when filled. The Lipault also looks so nice and stylish and has plenty of compartments. I finally decided to go with black just because it doesn't show stains as much, but those beautiful fashion colors certainly tempted me! All in all, I am very happy with my purchase and will probably buy a Lipault Plume carryon next. And as always, Zappos rates 5 stars for service and quality. Zappos and its people are just the best!

My husband and I really wanted to like this suitcase but after a dry-run of pre-packing before a 34-day trip that included hiking, running, sight-seeing, and visiting friends in Germany and France, including 2 weeks of traveling via train, we found the Lipault just did not work for us. Because it is more soft sided, after we put everything in and stood it upright, everything kind of shifted 'south' to the bottom. It is very difficult to get items in and out of the front-lid section. When we lifted the case, the handle pulled up, and we thought eventually that would lead to the fabric near the handle tearing, esp. after the "gentle" (NOT!) handling at airports. The style is beautiful, and the colors are great (we had ordered the mustard yellow so we could easily find our bags). The reviews were all so good here at Zappos and on a few other sites, so we were disappointed that Lipault did not work for us. I ended up with a 25-inch Samsonite Lift rolling spinner (at Macy's, 2 days before we left on our trip) that has a style where the handles are huge swaths of the same suitcase fabric sewn on 2 sides -- sturdy and no way those handles are coming off. It easily carried all my clothes, toiletries, hiking boots and poles, etc., and I had some room for a few small items I purchased along the way. It also was light (around 8 pounds) before any items were put in it. My husband used his tried and true old $50.00 25-inch rolling duffle bag. I want and need more structure and opted out on the duffle bag approach this time. I also looked at a TravelPro that was similar to the Samsonite, but I opted for the Samsonite because of the great handles. Both the Samsonite and TravelPro are expandable. I'd suggest to folks to order and then pre-pack (leave all the tags on) and see if you really like how the Lipault works for you. I also don't see how people can claim they did 3-4 week trips in the 22-inch as a carry-on when the airlines restrict you to 15 pounds or less for a carry-on weight. My carry-on backpack, which is a thin but strong nylon Marmot that can fold into its own pocket after use, was at 14.5 pounds with a laptop, eReader, adapter plug, chargers, camera, etc.

I'd also recommend: Samsonite, TravelPro
