I was really looking forward to wearing these shorts this summer, but it is probably not to be. The good: Super soft and comfy cotton, good length on both the in and out seams. They look and feel well made. I'd happily wear these if they would just fit right. The bad: The shape. Granted, I sometimes have a hard time finding jeans and shorts that fit right. I have 38" hips and a 26.5" to 27" waist, so gaping is regularly an issue. I was hopeful that these would work since they have a higher back rise than front, which helps a lot. No such luck. I measured the gap at the back; 3.75 inches. If I wear them low enough on my hips to not gap they are just a hair above being indecent in the back and the crotch is hanging way too low. I'm not going to bother sizing down since I bought the 6 to accommodate my hips and there will still be a gap of a few inches even with a 4. I'm still debating on whether or not to try and spend the time and money to get them tailored.

The Callahan short is my favorite summer short ever! They are well made, perfectly structured, and fit like a glove. I wear these in a 4. I wear other brands (Ann Taylor, Talbots, LOFT, JCrew) in the same size. This short fits better than other brands because they do not gape at the waist. The material is lightweight and a perfect weight for hot summers. The 5" inseam is comfortable. I love that they come in fun prints, as well as fun solids. Easy to dress up or down. They shrink a little when dried, and do not stretch out with wear. I have 5 pairs now, and still would be happy with a few more.

I love these shorts! They are soft and well-made. I had to return the first pair I bought, however, because they seem to run a little big. I am 5'3" and 112 pounds, and the 00 fits perfectly.

I have 7 pairs of these shorts, some patterned and some not. I think they're a great fit! Plus I love the fact that they are constructed using a lightweight cotton.
