Originally an immigrant of Bavaria, Levi traveled westward in search of greater opportunities and fortune. An eager businessman of his time, he established a wholesale dry goods business simply dubbed 'Levi Strauss & Co.' It was through this outlet that he imported dry goods, including clothing, umbrellas and fabric. Business was blossoming with the rise of the gold rush, but it was in 1873 that Levi struck gold. Levi Strauss, along with co-creator Jacob Davis patented the process of adding rivets to pants for increased strength and durability. Their creation of the classic 'blue jean' can now be found in households and catwalks worldwide.
LS&Co exists today as one of the world's largest brand-name apparel marketers with sales in over 110 countries. The Levi's brand continues its legacy by consistently providing quality jeans and products, and by earning the trust of consumers, investors, employees and society as a whole through their responsible business practices. This principle of responsible commercial success is embedded in the company's 156-year history and continues to anchor the way LS&Co operates today.

Sizing: With 38" hips, by Levi's own size chart, I should wear a 6 in these (which is the size I wear in most non-dress pants). But the reviews are right: these run small. The 6 would barely zip up. Most women will probably want to size up one for a snug fit; I ended up keeping the 10 s. It's nice to even have the option of going up a size for a looser fit through the thigh without ending up with six extra inches in the waist. The fit is better than any pair of jeans I've tried on in years. The back rise could be a little higher and the front rise a little lower, but they're still just really comfortable, well-fitting jeans. As far as style goes, at first I wasn't sure about the straight leg, but the only color left in bootcut has inconvenient flap pockets, and after wearing these a few times I'm so won over by the comfort I just can't make myself care that they'd look cooler on someone older than me.

I have difficulty finding jeans because while I have a small waist, I have very muscular thighs and glutes from years of mountain biking. Generally, I wear a 4 or 6 in most clothing. My waist is 27.5" and my hips are 34", so while I'm not especially wide-hipped, I do have a "bubble butt" and most jeans seem designed for someone wider and flatter back there. According to the calculator at the Levi's site, I should be a "Demi Curve." However, the "Bold Curve" fit much better. I also had to go up a size from what I usually wear -- I am generally a 4 or 6 but had to get an 8 in these. Aside from the inconsistent sizing, I love them. The denim is very soft and comfortable (I hate jeans that feel scratchy inside), and the style is very flattering -- even better than the 529 Curvy style which it replaced. The waistband does not gap and the rise is not too low. I've seen reviewers on other sites complaining that these are not cut for a truly "curvy" woman; I suspect they are confusing "curvy" with "plus-size," as they seemed upset by the waist being "too small." So please note, these are cut Curvy meaning a small waist/larger hips or butt. In other words, for an hourglass figure, not necessarily a larger figure -- as I have noted, they do run small so I recommend going up one size at least.

I just want to say thank you to Levi's! Finally a pair of jeans that fit every angle. I have always had a terrible time finding jeans that fit. If they fit in the legs and butt there would be a 2-3 inch gap in the waist. No more! These fit perfectly! Finally.

The waist does not gape which is awesome, but the size 4 was too tight for my 27" waist. Also, the pockets sit a little low on the butt which is not so flattering. The Limitless color is nice though. Unfortunately, I have to send them back.
