Originally an immigrant of Bavaria, Levi traveled westward in search of greater opportunities and fortune. An eager businessman of his time, he established a wholesale dry goods business simply dubbed 'Levi Strauss & Co.' It was through this outlet that he imported dry goods, including clothing, umbrellas and fabric. Business was blossoming with the rise of the gold rush, but it was in 1873 that Levi struck gold. Levi Strauss, along with co-creator Jacob Davis patented the process of adding rivets to pants for increased strength and durability. Their creation of the classic 'blue jean' can now be found in households and catwalks worldwide.
LS&Co exists today as one of the world's largest brand-name apparel marketers with sales in over 110 countries. The Levi's brand continues its legacy by consistently providing quality jeans and products, and by earning the trust of consumers, investors, employees and society as a whole through their responsible business practices. This principle of responsible commercial success is embedded in the company's 156-year history and continues to anchor the way LS&Co operates today.

Levi's has always made a great product. In the past the jean jackets have always been too heavy and bulky for spring and fall use. These new lighter weight jackets are much more comfortable and seem to be less water absorbent than the older versions. Very comfortable.Read more » « Show less August 20, 2012 by Brad G

The black yarn dye is not 100% cotton, it is a cotton-poly blend. And it is not really black, more like a dark grey. If you want the jacket to go with black Levi's pants (as I did) this is not the jacket for you. I had a similar problem with the Rigid color--it does not go with the Rigid Levi jeans.Read more » « Show less May 1, 2012 by Anonymous

Small slim-fit shirts and jackets generally look great on me, and so does the regular-fit Levi's jacket in small. It's trim without being constricting, and I have broad shoulders for an athletic-enough 5'8". Color, construction, and style are terrific, though the sleeves are definitely a good bit longer than they need to be. I suspect that's just today's fashion, and I could get them shortened but probably won't. Rolling back the cuffs and buttoning them inside-out results in a perfect length and a devil-may-care touch I don't mind a bit, but I have to say I'd be happier if the sleeves fit as well as the rest of the jacket. Still, I have no regrets!

Levi's have always fit well and worn well. I was unable to get a 2X large locally and an XL was not even close. Zappos had it in stock and it was promptly delivered. I am 6'1" and 235 pounds.
I'd also recommend: None.
