Lightweight and chic, secure zippers for city living. Living in London means that I must always carry: an umbrella, a sweater or pashmina, map of London, wallet, iPod, work phone, personal phone, sometimes a 6 lb laptop, and other personal items. I have stopped using my leather bags because they weigh at least 3 lb completely empty. I searched a very long time for a bag to be my commuting companion. Positives: secure zippers not magnetic snaps or open tote tops that leave my belongings ready for pickpockets. Waterproof is helpful too. Lightweight. Chic. Excellent construction quality (my previous $250 Charles David bag fell apart in 8 months, and the company has meanly decided to not offer a website or customer service). Multiple compartments because I miss many phone calls when I carry my single compartment bags and so that I don't flash my wallet when I take out my tube or train tickets. Design that is relatively classic but not stodgy. I have only had this bag for 2 weeks, so I can't comment on it's sturdiness, but this is far lighter than any of my Furla or Italian-made bags, and I'm not embarrassed to be seen with it. Negatives: soft bottom, no bottom padding so I can imagine things poking a hole through it eventually. The strap, though adjustable, starts to slide and grow longer within 10 minutes of walking around with it, especially when carrying 5 lb of stuff inside of it.

I have ordered and received of these now. This is the perfect sized bag for short trips or even using as a little gym bag if you are tired of rummaging through your present one because its too large with too many choices. The various compartments and the reliability of this manufacturer is for our family, quite incredible. I did lose one I had for years at an airport and was crushed. All five family l members had used it at different times and always said "Where is the little Sportsac? I prefer a classic solid in zinc or black but see they have introduced many prints. I very trustworthy company who likely would honor their product but have not had to test yet. I heartily recommend and they also wash and dry naturally just fine!

I bought this bag to use as a carry-on bag. I almost got the large size, but ended up with the medium, because I usually carry more than I need to. I am glad I did. It is perfect - light weight, organized and oh, so pretty. I will use it as a handbag sometimes, too. I do not like the black lining so much, but I knew that when I ordered it, and loved the print so much I decided to deal with that minor issue. I loved that I was upgraded to 2-day air shipping. Thanks Zappos!
I'd also recommend: Dooney & Bourke nylon "Carla" bags are also roomy & lightweight.
