Leo's Reviews
I normally wear a 7 and I got a 7.5. It felt a little snug but appropriate for the type of shoe, and there was plenty of room in the toe box. Good shoe and good service from Zappos.
Does anybody read these reviews. I already wrote you that you sent me two left shoes in this pair. That was not satisfactory, and I certainly do not want to risk repeating the experience.
There's no cushion in the toe of the shoe and is made of very stiff material. I had hoped this would be the one, but after less than one minute wearing these shoes, I knew I couldn't withstand the discomfort.
Really solid dance & character shoes. I loved them the moment I put them on! The soft leather is great, the sizing is awesome, yadda yadda, The bottoms are just slick enough for turns and whatnot, but I can still do character walks without any slipping, and they're super comfortable to boot! I'll definitely get these again.
Great beginner tap shoe! I am 50 (but it's the new 30, right?) and had a desire to try tap dancing. I didn't want to invest a lot of money in a shoe in case I discovered I had two left feet. Fortunately I love it and the shoes are serving me well. I have very high arches so I am going to add inserts. You can't beat these shoes for the price. I will wear them until Dancing with the Stars comes calling (or wear them out and purchase a new pair). I was thrilled to find Zappos carried tap shoes, and at an excellent price with that beyond exceptional service. I actually spoke with a Zappos customer service rep who walked me through the selections, features, benefits, etc. Amazing! Get these shoes, tap your hearts out, and support our beloved Zappos!
I was having some knee pain from wearing regular gym shoes during Zumba classes. After reading the other positive reviews I decided to buy these shoes. I went with an extra half size. Since my foot is very narrow I wear them with a heavier sock. They are comfortable and I'm glad I bought them. I added an arch support, too.
Stable, true to size practice shoes. This is my second pair, I also own these shoes in tan. Not terribly elegant, but still good-looking shoes. Also, a big plus for me - they have leather soles, not suede. I highly recommend them for dancing.
I wanted a "flapper style" pair of shoes and these fit the bill. I had sturdy rubber soles applied to the bottoms and they feel very comfortable for casual and formal wear.
I found nothing wrong with this shoe. It fits great - I wear a women's 9 street shoe and ordered an 8 - no problem! I teach preschool gymnastics and wear this for class. It's attractive, looks professional, and feels great.
I've used these for about 3 weeks. I like them. I ordered the 1/2 size larger as per suggestion and they fit very well. I use them in Zumba and Jackie Sorenson aerobic dance. Great dance shoes!
These are more comfortable than most character shoes. But the painted black finish wears off pretty easily if worn every night for a three week show.
The Leo's site lists these as gymnastics shoes, I just wanted minimalist footwear. If you want to keep your feet clean without padding, on dry surfaces, these could be for you. The toe area is reasonably roomy, but as an earlier reviewer noted, the elastic pulls the seam up and over your toes. The suede sole is a single layer. I wear a 9½, ordered the 9, and it certainly is not too big. The fit and feel is like the ghost of an Isotoner ballerina slipper.
A little on the clunky side for zumba. Ordered a size and a half larger than normal, and they fit well.
These shoes fit like a dream and were exceedingly comfortable. Like others, I ordered 1/2 to one size larger than my normal street size. The only downside was that the soles left black marks on the studio floor -- a deal-breaker for me, I'm afraid. No one else seems to have had this problem. Zappos customer service is outstanding; they accepted the return graciously and professionally. Four stars only because of the marking.

Great dance shoe for practicing! The scored leather sole is good for dancing (especially turning) on different floor surfaces (whether it be hardwood floors or linoleum), although since it lacks the "grip" you can get from suede soles, sometimes turns will feel more slippery. The insole is super-cushy and will provide many hours of comfort while dancing. While the shoe and the block heel is very sturdy (read: dependable), I think the aesthetics of the shoe is still appealing. The t-strap gives the shoe is cute touch. The sizing is accurate in my case (my street shoe size is 8 and I purchased an 8 which worked well).
Wear these to Zumba 3 times a week.I decided to try these,to see if I was in fact going to be able to do Zumba, bad knee.Anyway, I do Zumba just fine in these shoes. They are very comfortable, not the prettiest, but who is looking a my feet...I wear a 10 1/2 sneaker, I bought an 11 and these are perfect.Zumba On!
I ordered a 7.5 but it was too small. Sent them back and ordered an 8.5 which fits comfortably. I usually wear a 7 in most shoes or 7.5 in running shoes. I liked the quick shipping and easy send back policy. I don't order much online so this gave me a good experience. I will wear the shoes tonight so I will see what a wonderful dancer the shoes will make me. These shoes are a little flatter than others I have seen.
