Yum - These boots are pretty close to my dream, for both the style and the feel of the uppers. The leather is buttery soft, and they come out of the box looking like boots that cost much more. I am 5'4" and the height is just right. They are also a bit narrower on top than most boots in this style, so they look great on my slimmer calves. I've recently ordered about 6 different pairs from Zappos and most have been too wide on top and looked awful on me. My complaints are with the sole. I wish it was thicker, with better traction and shock absorption. I have been spoiled in recent years by Keens and Dansko, so I am used to shoes that are more cushiony and have a bit more bounce. They do need some extra arch support, but I almost always add my own in every shoe I wear anyway. I would have liked a more rugged sole that could handle a little rain or snow, and these are not boots for that. But for the price they are beautiful and well worth keeping away from slush.
