These runners are great, but be sure to order a size bigger than you usually wear. I wear a US 9.5 but ordered a Euro 43 which is a US 10. They were too small. Thanks to Zappos I was able to return them at no cost and get the 43.5. The slip lasts insure a glove-like fit. They are really flexible and well cushioned. They feel a bit heavier than my La Sportiva Fireblades, but are better for running on rocky ground. I'm not sure about the lacing system, its a bit difficult to get them just right. All in all I am happy the shoes. They have found a spot in my quiver.

Wanted to love this shoe, but don't. Very soft on landings and take away every bump, but that excessive cushion takes away the responsiveness. Makes them feel a bit heavy and sluggish. I prefer the more minimal feel of the old Crosslites. Perhaps just a preference in feel. Quantums are, however, more supportive than the Crosslites, but not as much as the Fireblades. Definitely run small. Had to go a full size up from my usual Fireblade and Crosslite size. Where I do find I love the shoes though is as a shoe for work. I'm on my feet all day and need a stable, well cushioned shoe. For that purpose these shoes are fantastic. I just don't really like running in them.

These do run half a size too small, check the La Sportiva website under the fit and technology section and they specifically say whatever US size you normally wear, convert to UK and add half a size. I will have to write a second review once I get the size that fits but just a note to everyone that the half size off is by design.

I picked these shoes up for a canyoneering trip through various landscapes. The terrain ranged from gravel, boulders, and scree to creek crossings, mud and log scrambling. These shoes worked like a charm. The outsole really functions as the technology intends; the very soft PU almost hugs uneven ground and provides cushioning at the same time. And the traction was surprisingly good given that there is barely a hard edge on the bottom! The mesh drains and dries fast, which is extremely helpful with 10 creek crossings a day, and the gritty screen prints helped prevent tearing the of the material. The toe bumper provided excellent protection from the inevitable rock kick and the scree collar kept sand out. It was the perfect all-in-one shoe for the job!
