I'm an avid trail runner and skyrace participant. I train trails (no less than 13k) 3-4 times weekly. I wear La Sportiva's exclusively. Compared to Wildcats/Raptors/Crossover, the new "Morphodynamic Technology" sole is super responsive and seems more like a running shoe with nice cushioning. I find Wildcats/Raptors/Crossover much more "stiff" (even though I love them). Climbing on rock/gravel/trail is a breeze. With descents on rock/gravel/trail, you can stop on a dime. I have only run twice in these, both times on the same 13k course. The first run was amazing! The second was after a strong rain the night before leaving the "trail" portion muddy. Needless to say, the new sole does not do well in the mud. I was sliding all over both climbing and downhill. For a dry day, these are awesome, use another shoe for wet days. Hope this helped.

I have always loved Sportiva shoes for climbing, trail running and hiking. This trail running shoe accompanies my Crosslite when I don't need something as aggressive. I've ended up wearing the Electron as my everyday kicks. Highly recommend!
Brands I'd also recommend: Arcteryx, Mountain Hardwear, Patagonia

These are nice shoes that feel futuristic. They are very snug and have a glove like fit. The sole is super neat, allowing you to feel the nuances of the trail, but without discomfort. I do not think that I would suggest these shoes to runners who supinate; it seems to encourage my tendency to roll along the outside of my feet. There are no color choices, so that sucks. Why does it need to say "La Sportive" in huge letter? Also, these are very warm shoes. The black material holds heat! Definitely order a full size larger than you normally would. Please La Sportive, more color options!
