I bought these shoes for mud runs and I could not be more pleased. They provide great traction on slick muddy hills, does not retain a lot of water after being submerged in cold lake and ice bath. These shoes have taken me through Ruckus Run and Tough Mudder. These shoes are not going to feel like your road running shoes, as they should not. my marathoning shoes are lightweight Brooks Pure Flow. They would not hold up in the Tough Mudder.

Had these shoes a little over a year ago and then bought the Crosslite 2 version but didn't like them as much as they had more midsole making me feel higher off the ground. Had to go back to these originals and love them...feel more grounded flying on the trails. :)

These were just delivered a few days ago. These look great and they fit like a glove. There is plenty of room in the toe box, which I was not expecting. The lacing is a bit difficult at first but I played around a bit and now have a fit. The only thing that is a bit difficult is just putting these things on. They are a bit tight even with the top laces loosened. But once you are in they are nice and snug. They are also very sticky on the bottom, which you want!

I liike these shoes so much, I bought a second pair in case they stop making them. I use them as turf shoes for ultimate frisbee. Traction is fine for hard ground, but cleats are necessary for soft fields. They are light, but not tight and narrow like ultra-light cleats. The only problem with having two pairs is that I once packed two right shoes in my gym bag. I could do without the giant logo on the side.

I do not know what I will do if they ever stop making these shoes. They make me feel like Mercury with my winged shoes. I do have slim feet (not overly so, just an old-fashioned B) and these are the perfect slippers. I do trail runs three times a week, on gnarly, wet, tree-root-laden paths, and I never fall down in these, which was always my concern before. I also run on tracks, street, and beaches. I just love them.

These are the absolute best shoe for minimalist trail runners. They provide the most traction and grippiness I've found on such a light shoe. I will continue to buy these shoes until they no longer make them. I've got over 200 miles on my first pair and I've already ordered a second pair. I have to say, with 200 miles on them they're still not even close to beginning to wear out or break down. Solid shoe with superior construction. I'll be running a trail marathon in them this winter and a 50k in the spring.

No more New Balance shoes. La Sportiva exceeded my expectations as I needed a sturdy shoe to walk to the subway in cold snowy Chicago weather. The shoe virtually lifts your feet and the arch support is fantastic. Got a second pair and alternate so I don\'t wear them out. Lots of "admiring" stares from fellow commuters! Just awesome. Great also at the gym while weightlifting, etc.

Excellent trail running shoe. Lightweight shoe more on the minimalist end of trail shoes. Low volume, wide forefoot. Low to the ground and flexible to allow me to feel the trail but with enough material underfoot to keep me from getting rock bruises. Lug sole is excellent for providing traction without collecting mud. Lacing system is a bit odd to get adjusted the first time around, but once adjusted was fine. I have incredibly flat feet and find their insole supportive enough for up to 4 miles, but use a custom orthotic for mileage over that. The lugs feel a little funky on pavement, but that's not what these shoes are for. Size conversion chart is off. I wear a women's 8 running shoe and a 38 in these. Happier in these than the Fireblades which had a similar fit but were more supportive, heavier, and had less traction.

These shoes are awesome! They are well made and provide moderate arch support. I bought them for trail running but now I wear them everywhere because they are so comfortable. They provide great stability and support for my extremely flat feet. However, I did find that they definitely run a full size smaller than marked. Still, I will definitely buy this brand again!

These shoes rule my life! They were my first TRUE trail shoes so maybe I'm a little biased but I can tell you this that after using them at least 10 times now I couldn't be more happy! I have a more normal or narrow foot as compared to a guy with wider feet and these bad boys fit me nice and snug! Of course I bought a size bigger to keep my toes from smashing into the front on downhills, and the shoe is completely snug the whole time. There's also a lot of washed out and very slippery downhills and the cleats on these shoes have grabbed hold of every one! I love love LOVE these shoes!

Great shoe for what I use it for. Fast starts & stops, plus it's extremely comfortable. If a good cleat and comfortable sock met a bar, and had a baby, this would be the result! I just hope it lasts...I'm hard on these types of footwear.

Fantastic shoe. Super comfortable and light weight. Wearing these on a few technical trail runs recently and they feel like wearing a light as air comfy slipper, if slippers came with dirt, mud and snow gripping cleats. I can't get myself to lose my feet from underneath me, they get grab the trail and don't let go.

I am completely in love with these shoes. I often have a hard time fitting in shoes because of a bunion problem and these hold my arches just right while still having enough room in the toes. They are a little bit more flimsy than your average shoe, but it's a great feature because you really feel like you're in touch with the ground beneath you. The soles have huge grips; so far I've only taken them on one major hike, but my feet were comfortable and solid. If you have weak ankles, these shoes are not for you as there is no ankle support, but I was actually looking for that. Oh, did I mention they look badass?

Super comfortable, these shoes slide right on. The treads are perfect for trail running or plain old hiking. They can be interesting on pavement as the treads are supple and high, but I absolutely love them. This is the second LaSportiva shoe I have purchased and they last long, are super comfy and durable.

I purchased these shoes based on all the positive reviews from magazines and other reviewers. I was a little hesitant due to not being able to try them on first. Zappos was great! I accidentally put 2 pairs in my cart. When I realized it, I called Zappos. They fixed my error and upgraded my order to 2 day shipping. My shoes were here in 2 days. The shoes were extremely comfortable and fit true to size. I wear a size 39 and have just your average foot with no foot issues. Other reviewers were concerned about the ability to replace the laces, but I've never had a pair of laces break prior to actually wearing out a shoe. If for some reason, you had to replace the laces, it would be difficult to access the lower eyelets. I've had them for just over a month now. I wore them while backpacking 30 miles in the Grand Canyon and immersed them while walking in a creek for about a mile. These shoes had superior grip. They are flexible in the forefoot and allow the foot to flex. Rocks don't get caught in the tread. The shoelace cover kept the dirt from getting in. After 30 miles of backpacking, I had no blisters or hot spots. Other than some scuffing on the sides of the soles, these shoes show no sign of wear. After hiking in the creek, I removed the insole and allowed the shoes to dry overnight. You'd never know I used them as river shoes. These are great shoes and Zappos provided great service. I'd highly recommend the shoes and Zappos.
