The calf seem more narrow that specified & had another pair of La Canadienne boots & had no problem zipping them up. I wish the shaft was an inch taller & an inch wider. I also wish they came in nude leather. Love the heel height very comfortable.

This is a great boot that is a basic "classic" that will never go out of style. Will work with skirts or pants, though the heel is a little clunky for "delicate" dresses. That said, you could traipse up and down snow covered hills in this will good stability and traction,even on cobblestones, etc plus have a bit of heel height. It's a good basic black and it's fitting perfectly right out of the box. I'm a 7.5 in heels, usually an 8 in others, but in La Canadienne I'm a 7.5, and, I find their leather does stretch out a bit. In the beginning, this fits great with tights or very thing socks, but the 8 I bought last year is now too big without medium socks..Love this brand; worth every penny.
