Love these boots. I got them several years ago and sadly my ankle on one side started to poke through the zipper (I guess I have bony ankles?), so I had the zipper repaired twice but now I unfortunately finally have to retire them. That being said, they were truly waterproof for at least 3 winters (aka - you can walk through several inches of snow/slush/rain/whatever) without a drop of moisture coming through. They were super comfortable and versatile since they looked great with jeans/skirts/dresses/etc. I'm branching out to other styles from the same brand this year, but if I could afford both I would definitely buy another pair!

I love these boots. I was torn between these and the Passion from this brand. I decided to go with these as the Leather Passion had a ridge around the toe edge I didn't really like. Plus these have a slightly higher heel. I normally wear an 8 in a shoe like this (flat to low heel) and the 8's fit great with a medium sock, but I can also wear with a thicker sock if I choose to in the winter. The calves are snug and I measure to a 13.5 when flexed. I was concerned about the shape of the toe as I have very long toes with the second toe being longer than the first and a slightly wider toe bed than heel. These, so far, fit great with no toe pinching or rubbing (have only worn them inside the house so far). I'll be traveling to Minnesota soon for work and spend a bit of time in Denver so I should be able to test the waterproof/warmth factor of these babies soon. Hope this helps. Happy shopping.

I ordered these boots and the Timberland Statham boots. The latter bruised my ankles after a few hours so back they went. These are more expensive but worth the price. It's my boots' label for life!

My husband bought me a pair of these boots for Christmas, and they are of very high quality and very comfortable. They are very warm, and perfect for cold, wet weather. I love the square toe. I don't usually wear heels, but these are comfortable enough to wear at work for more than 10 hours. Great investment. I'm not usually wide, but that was the only size available, and they feel fine.

First, I love Zappos. Unparalleled shopping experience. They boosted my shipping option for no reason other than to be kind. These boots are fantastic and are worth the money. They were a lifesaver while on several winter campus interviews, trudging through sloppy streets and slippery walkways. Practical, but stylish. High quality. I'm petite, with what I think are smallish legs. But I'm a runner. I could barely zip the boots around my calves. So if you are athletic, you might go ahead and get the larger width. That being said, though snug at first, they were comfortable all day long, both in the calves and on the foot. Can't recommend La Canadienne enough!

I absolutely love this beautiful black leather boot from La Canadienne. The square toe was exactly what I was looking for. Unfortunately, it wouldn't zip up over my size 14 calves. This boot is super comfortable and stylish. I have fairly narrow ankles and calves and this boot fits nicely, although it could be slightly more snug at the very top circumference to perfect the fit. It does fit, however, way better than most boots which are usually much too wide in the shaft, arch and around the ankle for me. Also, being 5'2" this boot has a good shaft height for me. I also need to mention that the heel is the perfect height. Looks sleek and dressy (but can also be dressed down) and is not too high for comfort. I liked these boots so much that I have since ordered 2 other styles of La Canadienne boots with similar heel heights. All are super comfortable. Just wish they were a little less expensive. Nevertheless, I wish these came in dark brown, too. For some reason it seems to be only available in black.

I ordered the 10N and love them. I have rather thin calves and these fit great - not a huge gap like most brands. They do bunch a little at the ankles though. I've worn them all day at work and they are very comfortable. They could use a little more cushion on the bottom, but overall, they are worth every penny. I was hesitant to spend that much but after returning 7 pairs (thanks Zappos) I decided to splurge and I'm glad I did. (I gave 4 stars for styling because they are just a classic style that some may see as boring).

Finally! After 7 tries on cheaper boots I tried this one. And yes, they are worth the money. I wore them to work and did more walking than normal and they were fine. I ordered a 10N and the fit was good. I especially liked the smaller leg opening for my skinny legs. If I had a complaint it would be that my size 10 foot did look rather large in this boot.

I was looking for a stylish boot to wear with skirts that would work with my arthritic toe and these are perfect - very comfortable, but still look nice and sleek. I also have muscular calves, so it's hard to find boots that cling in the right way, and these do a good job. A tad baggier for me around the ankles than I'd like, but that's the trade-off for good fit on the calves, I guess. Haven't had them long enough to see how they wear over time (ie well enough to justify the price) but so far so good.

Awesome boots. I have them on right now. Comfortable from day one. Fine under jeans, slacks, trousers, even nice skirts. My calves are big--the gentle word is "athletic", maybe that's true, but boots often bind there. Not these. There is a little wedge of elastic-not like that on maternity pants that helps out, but mostly it's the high quality leather. They take polish--real leather does. It's been a heck of a winter here, I got these boots just in time. As one reviewer noted, they don't have a lot of padding at the ball of the foot, but the heel height and arch support and ample toe box (allows for thick socks if you need them) keep it from being hard to stand/walk in them all day. Love these boots. I hope they still make them years from now when I wear them out.

These are great boots. I bought them to replace a pair of La Canadienne boots that I loved to death. I looked at other brands and considered cheaper boots, but coulnd’t find any that matched the quality, mix of style & comfort of La Canadienne. (Worry not - La Canadienne boots last a long time. I wore the previous pair nearly every fall, winter, and spring day for five years. Only after lots of walking and winters in Minnesota, Wisconsin, and upstate NY - did the zipper give out and soles become beyond repair.) The heel of the Jenny is high enough to make a short person feel a bit more authoritative, but not so high as to make someone who spurns heels lose her balance. You might find the leg part a bit tight. Further, a shorter person will find, though, that the boot will come nearly to the knee; I wish they were a tad shorter. The lining helps keep my frigid feet warm in winter, but these are versatile and high-quality boots - good with skirts, dress pants or jeans. I hope they last as long (or longer) than the last pair.
