I have had this machine for a couple of months. I was a big Krups fan and would hope that they are listening to the consumer reviews. Every pour dribbles coffee on the counter. The inside water level indicator melted, and now the machine leaks every time I put water in reservoir. I am on the hunt for a new machine and gun shy to buy another Krups.

In defense of Krups... I nearly did not buy this coffee maker after reading the negative feedback. Fortunately I opted not to become a sheep and decided to think for myself. I do not recall most of the items listed, but one was that it was impossible to gauge the amount of coffee remaining in the carafe. Hey! As the picture and description implies, it is a metal carafe. Another person was dissatisfied with the sight gauge indicating the water level. Guess I must have superior eyesight, as I failed to find that to be a problem. As for not being able to fill the chamber without dribbling water. I have no comment. And oh yeah, there was even a complaint that the new unit did not come with a gold-tone filter. As far as I can ascertain, several folks opt to use paper filters. I am so happy and proud to have thought for myself, for now I own another superior Krups coffee maker.

This is the worst coffee maker I have ever purchased. It has a severe case of over-engineering. Every part of it is too complicated and it can't make a simple cup of coffee. As an example, the water level indicator is a fancy channel of reflective light that is not actually filled with water, it's filled with mirrors that light up depending on how much water is nearby. So you have to stand at a certain angle to see those reflections and know how much water you've poured. Terrible product.

I was so terribly disappointed in this product I wrote to the company. The coffee maker perks so fast that it uses twice as much coffee than any previous coffee makers I have owned. I grind my own beans. After the third e-mail of silly questions I replied to the company that this was just a waste of my time and that is when they asked for the model/serial number. This coffee maker comes without a filter. I would never purchase another Krups and miss my Braun!

This is a terrible product. The coffee does not pour completely out of the pot ever. The exterior lip is too large and does not allow the coffee to drain. It keeps it hot, but it does not matter if it does not come out. Krups coffee products are usually good but not this one.

This is one of the worst products I've ever had, especially considering the price. It's impossible to see the tiny water level indicator. The carafe always spills when pouring. Finally after less than five months the heating element failed. Did anyone every try making a cup of coffee in this before putting it on the market?

I had a Krups coffeemaker with a stainless thermos for years. So long that I couldn't remember when I bought it, at least 15 years. When it finally quit, I decided to go online and buy another one. This one makes a good cup of coffee, but it is almost impossible to put water in the tank because it has a very tiny area in which to pour, and the thermos has an unbelievably awful pouring area, not an actual spout that emerges from the thermos. The thermos has a totally flat rim around the top between the spout and the pot. I don't know who designed this, but I'm sure they never had to use it on a daily basis. The only way I can get water in the tank is by using a large funnel that I happened to own. The funnel is large enough to hold the spout and base of the thermos at the same time. If you didn't have a funnel, the water goes all over the counter when pouring into the tank! Also, the fill-level indicator in the tank is extremely difficult to read. I just fill the thermos to the top with water and use the funnel to get it into the tank and make a full pot every time! The brewing is fast and the coffee tastes good, but the other bad features listed above would compel me to advise you not to buy this unless you want to use a funnel every time you fill the tank!
Brands I'd also recommend: I can\'t recommend another, as I haven\'t shopped except online
