I've got this kettle after my old Krups died after 10 years of good service. Overall the kettle does the job of boiling water fast. I was looking for a branded white plastic kettle but found only black FLF2-J4 in a local B&B store just to return it in a couple of months because it was turning off in a couple of seconds from the start. I do not care much for BW500 design (not a stainless steel fan) and the style looks a bit old to me. There are two things I really don't like - the kettle is very heavy, it gets very hot (do not buy if you have little kids!) and the filter falls off from the spout when pouring water.

The teapot works just great the thing to hold the cord in the base works just fine if you set it and forget it. Water boils relatively quickly, is comfortable though a bit heavy, but heavy is a good thing cause you can tell the quality. Love it.

We've had ours a year now, and it's been excellent. We used it many times a day. Still boils quickly, shuts off as it should and doesn't add any bad taste to the water. No scaling has built up inside the kettle, which is good. We'd buy it again. Con: A bit heavy, but it's OK.
