I thought this time I'd pay more for a toaster and get something better. What I want to know is why it's so hard to make a decent reasonably priced toaster. This one has 7 settings. Why, I don't know. Setting 2 barely shows any browning. Setting 4 is almost burnt. Setting 3 is OK, but the toast is uneven in the browning. I don't know what to buy.

Do not buy! This was the worst product KitchenAid has put their name on! Never toasts the same no matter what setting. It has this annoying loud Beep Beep Beep when your item is done being toasted. You can't turn it off or lower the volume. So if you live with someone else and wake up before them, you'll now be giving them their wake up call. Customer service at KA / Whirlpool is beyond poor and refuse to offer a different model or offer a remedy. I own a $12K fridge and a $7K range and with the poor service I've received over this toaster I'll never buy another KA/ Whirlpool product again!
